1. No shit this never works, I don't know why you are pretending people are taking this seriously, especially here of all places.
2. They are only doing that anyway because we can smell the cultural rot for years and it's blatantly obvious that it wasn't even an ad for Twix... fuck me, it's literally that goddamned Stonetoss Comic with the Burgers stint completely unironically.
3. The issue at it's core is that it's pretty much the dumbasses running the show now and they don't care for how much they will ever lose in the process of alienating everything else.

This is why you don't continue a series perpetually, especially when you hit a natural stopping point such as Endgame was. It wouldn't even matter if the movies that have come out since were actually good, the fact they haven't been has just made it worse.

I always chuckle when I see the Black Widow add on TV and they call it the "Best Marvel Movie, Period".

Bringing back something perpetually until it's dead is something modern comics and the MCU share ironically.

Ben Reilly should've been retired as a character ages ago, now instead of being the man that HAS to fill in the Spiderman role for Parker despite his resentment towards the title and his nature as a clone, now he's just another spider shit that runs around and participates in team fights like miles, gwen, etc.

And the most anyone could ever muster up in its defense was
"but look at the sets though, they like built a city and shit and the acting is good"

Which just makes me feel bad because all that hard work was put into a terrible end product. At the end of the day, if your script is shit, there isn't much that's going to save you from the inevitable roasting.

Even a chunk of their own actors couldn't even pretend that it was good at that point.

Sure Dragon Ball had that Bacterian guy but he was SUPPOSED to be a joke, just there to fill the tournament roster so we could build up our main fighters for the semi-finals.

The truly hilarious thing? The movie acts like how Natasha defeated him was so amazing(She literally smashes her face into a desk twice to destroy her sense of smell) when she could have just used a Gas Mask or just shot him from far away.
Like the entire movie is a trainwreck that doesn't even fit in the MCU in the slightest(There is literally a gigantic floating airbase that somehow no one was able to find despite this being the 1980's... and there was no cloaking device or anything on it and obviously, it's never mentioned in any of the MCU movies previously and the tech is way beyond anything found in any previous movies or even Captain Marvel).
