Only the straw hats matter in this story, and the og boys, shanks, bb, admirals, mihawk for zoro, they are the endgame + maybe the gorosei, after this display, kidd should be out till eos/ or he will get some crazy power ups(and i mean some huge huge power ups), but for what? he will still be destroyed by luffy, if shanks isnt enough.

One Shot no, but from some reliable posters Shanks stomps him pretty bad, like Divine Departure is the only attack he used.
Could be Kidd took some damage getting to shanks though.
It is confirmed from the Narrator that Kidd's Pirate King dream is dead.
Does it matter if it was a one shot or three?
The problem is that Kidd barely got any screen time before losing in a chapter

The problem is that some people expected that this late into the story Kid will get anything, lol. The minute Wano started it was obvious Kid isn't getting shit. Not to mention that the entirety of the Supernova were cooked up last minute to spice things up, the fact that we ended up with a character like Law playing such an integral role is quite a miracle.
Kid's always been in a weird spot. Never cared much for him. It'd be bad writing to expand on his character at the expense of pacing when there's so much more interesting shit going on right now.

I’ll reserve my judgement until I see the scans. We knew Kidd would lose, but I at least hoped to see something decent before the defeat. If he’s just written off flippantly while discarding whatever plot threads he’s got? Then Oda is definitely making the wrong choice. All the set up is just a waste of time if that’s the case.
I take this with a grain of salt, because Spoilers are not reliable tools for gauging how the story is written. I still remember these same spoilers saying Luffy Vs Lucci was gonna be Tom And Jerry, and that Sanji broke his Leg fighting S-Shark. Neither were true. But we’ll see.

Does kinda fit his character - overly aggressive tool who won't turn away from a fight ,especially against someone he owes a beating to and to add more fuel to the fire - after he'd helped defeat a Yonko, and given his personality that probably gave him quite the confidence boost. I think some fighting was already done.
The leakers said Shanks was very angry. But when Kidd attack Shanjs was not angry. So Kidd had to do some damage to Shanks allies before Shanks used Divine Departure.
Then his crew whimpers. Then they flee and Dorry and Broggy one shot.
