Not only the Gorosei and that shadowed woman knew about Imu. The Holy Knights knew him too.

A lot of Mid-trio shine in general. Franky has been discovering massive lore-drops including an Ancient Lab that predates the Void Century that will surely come into play for him at some point. The conflict of the arc is very Robin centric with Ohara Library and Saul being on the line here. Brook has ties to one of the big villains and we will undoubtedly explore more of his backstory before piracy.

It's perhaps a bit far-fetched, but my ideal scenario is :
Robin vs Killingham
Franky vs Sommers
Brook vs Gunko

They rely a lot on regen, so if Chopper discovers their weakness and allows them to deal real damage then I can see the lesser Strawhats prevailing or at least managing to put on a strong showcase; it was also said that Sommers was specifically strong counter for Robin's ability which lessens the blow of her loss.

Then I think the plot is sort of set for Brook to use his music to break Gunko free of the mind-control. After that they can heat up the arc with bigger fish like Loki and/or Shamrock to let the Monsters have their taste of the action.
 
I was so hyped for next chapter...until the realization we're probably headed to Gunko-Brook flashbacks next chapter and possibly a break before getting to see what Mu does just hit me.

Fuck.
 
I don't feel like either gave us a reason to like them. The one who seems to have somewhat decent potential is Qilingam.

The problem is they were introduced so late into the story that now any more in-depth characterization is going to take away from big events that are currently unfolding, events we've been waiting hundreds of chapters to witness. It comes off as more frustrating than enticing. Also, didn't help that aside from Qilingam both Gunko and Sommers were both showcased as pure evil and edgy in a way that made them feel flat to begin with.
 
i didnt exactly “like” sommers but his kinda lackadaisical demeanor was refreshing for this sort of character and unexpected. Qilingham has a cool design and cool powers, haven’t seen enough to judge personality yet. Gunko just doesn’t do anything for me

I just don't like the pure evil, sadistic aspect of Sommers, while it makes sense considering his character. He feels sadistic but with no real merit.

Qilingam has a sort of elegance to his character and a hint of outright evil.
 
So this seems to be a crazy chapter according to some hints that may(or may not)confirm my theories about Imu's origins and the demon shenanigans. I hope my OL thread from 6 years ago still exists in case I'm right.
