Scribblenauts is a video game created by 5th Cell for Nintendo (and later other platforms). It follows the adventures of Maxwell as he helps others with a magic notebook and collects Starites. Several video games have been released, including Scribblenauts, Super Scribblenauts, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Scribblenauts Umasked: A DC Comics Adventure and Scribblenauts Showdown. There have also been a few comicbook spinoffs.

All of the known adjectives Maxwell can write and apply to an object or creature.

Of note, Maxwell can apply the adjective "dead" to a living thing, or "alive" to something inanimate or deceased.

If that's not scary enough, he can erase the target from existence by applying the adjective "non-existant."

Maxwell can animate inanimate objects in other ways too. For example, adding the adjective "carnivorous" to an inanimate object gives them the desire for flesh. While "cannibal" will only make them hunger for their own kind.

Other examples of altering somethings nature is to make it edible.

Maxwell (or another user of the magic notebook, such as the Doppleganger or Lily) can use the notebook to increase their own stats. You can alter yourself to fly, become invisible, invincible, omnipotent and omniscient (or close enough to those last few, as there are exceptions).

Maxwell can make himself faster with various adjectives, including "super sonic."

Maxwell can alter somethings size to make it bigger or smaller, including himself.

Maxwell can change the material something is made out of, like turning them to metal or rock or wood.

He can also alter something or someone's colour.

Maxwell can freeze his target.

The magic notebook also allows for manipulating emotions (as always, adding an emotion to an inanimate object will bring it to life).

Maxwell can make himself and others fireproof, waterproof and bulletproof.

Maxwell can create blackholes, which in early games would crash the entire level and result in a game over.

Maxwell can create antimatter.

Creating a nuke will cause a massive explosion, which will reset the level in early games, while from Unlimited onwards will only cause a huge explosion, white out the screen and irradiate everything (including things like rainbows, somehow).

Maxwell can create planets, stars and galaxies.

The Multiverse consists of at least 52 universes, which overlap each other and exist on different vibrational frequencies in the same space.

The Anti-Monitor is the most feared being in the Known Multiverse.
pnKN3KT.jpg
Maxwell, Lily and the Doppleganger twins come from beyond the Multiverse, making them an enigma to even the Anti-Monitor. The Known Multiverse consists of 52 universes.
XXDAqLS.jpg
That being said, the Multiverse used to be infinite, and then Crisis of Infinite Earths happened (as well as Blackest Night). The Anti-Monitor was also created by a higher power to watch over the Anti-Matter universe.

Mr Mxyzptlk freezes time and approaches Maxwell and says that he believes his own imagination is much greater than Maxwells, so challenges Maxwell to several challenges of imagination. Mxy also says in some of the challenges he might remove everyone's heads. MAxwell is free to not accept these challenges, but that would just prove that Mr Mxyzptlk is the more creative.

Brainiac plans to merge with every other Braniac in all 52 universes to become the Brainiac Collective, and then wipe out all other life in the Multiverse (and seemingly merge all other universes together).

Brainiac can teleport anyone from his universe as well as teleport in other Brainiacs, but he cannot teleport Maxwell, Lily or the Dopplegangers as they come from another universe, so they get the idea to teleport in members of alternate Justice Leagues.

Now, for the greatest feat in Scribblenauts. The anti-matter wave is unleashed, turning all matter in every universe (of which there are at least 52) into energy, which is then absorbed by the Anti-Monitor.
gxV8Ufl.jpg

X4AbeZJ.jpg
Maxwell, Lily, Doppleganger and Dopplelily survive the anti-matter wave as they come from another universe outside the Multiverse. Unfortunately, Maxwell doesn't posses nearly enough Starites to recreate the entire Multiverse (he'd need a universes worth of Starites for that). However, the Anti-Monitor has absorbed all of the energy of the Multiverse, making him "everything."

Anything Maxwell and the Doppleganger create the Anti-Monitor can destroy, so they create superhero forms that embody the ideas that superheroes (and villains) represent, as ideas are eternal and can't be truly created or destroyed.

They fight the Anti-Monitor, and Maxwell even takes a beam full on from the Anti-Monitor and survives. Although they're able to hurt the Anti-Monitor, they can't beat him. So Maxwell gets an idea to give him a doppleganger of his own...

Maxwell creates (or really summons) the Anti-Anti-Monitor, who is the Monitor (the original Monitor the Anti-Monitor killed). The Monitor grows to the size of the Anti-Monitor as he confronts his traiterous brother. Note that although this version of the DC Multiverse has 52 universes, Crisis On Infinite Earths happened in it, so it used to be infinite.
PD3EO3a.jpg
The Anti-Monitor and the Monitor clash. As the Monitor is made of postive matter and the Anti-Monitor is made of negative matter, the two cancel each other out and convert into pure energy with a universe shattering ka-boom. This energy is then turned into Starites, which Maxwell uses to remake the entire Multiverse.

The Monitor is the "omnipotent" Guardian of the Multiverse who has existed since the beginning of time.
TNopVt7.jpg
The Anti-Monitor controls the anti-matter universe which was accidently created by the Guardians of the Universe. He seeks to destroy all positive matter in the Multiverse and is one of the most dangerous villains ever created.
TBPnioo.jpg
The Guardians of the Universe are powerful immortals, one of whom accidently created the Multiverse and the anti-matter universe. To make up for Krona's actions, they invented the Manhunter Robots, but that failed, so they set up the Green Lanterns Corp to bring order, peace and stability to the Universe.

Krona is a former member of the Guardians of the Universe, who after being obsessed with seeing the beginning of time, brought about the calamity that created the anti-matter universe. He is even more powerful than the Guardians of the Universe, after a deal he made with Nekron.

Parallax Hal Jordan seemingly went mad after the destruction of Coast City by Mongul, and after attempting to recreate the city with his Green Lantern Ring (and the power of the ring fading), he was summoned by the Guardians of the Universe for punishment. Hal absorbs the power of the Green Lanterns Central Power battery and goes insane and destroys the Green Lantern Corps, changing his name to Parallax. Later, it's revealed that he was possessed by a being called Parallax.
vZdn7wj.jpg

riU9vWJ.jpg
Parallax is an etherial primordial being made of pure fear who's as old as time itself. It's the long time enemy of the Green Lantern Corps, and once successfully destroyed them via possessing Hal Jordan.
YQU10VM.jpg
The Green Lantern Power Battery is the ultimate creation of the Guardians of the Universe which powers the cosmic energies of all of the thousands of Green Lanterns across space.
xDgPpeV.jpg
Spectre Hal Jordan is Hal Jordan when he was briefly resurrected as an alter-ego of the Specter so as to redeem his actions as Parallax Hal Jordan.
NJTDBwx.jpg
The Spectre is an "omnipotent" mystical being of cosmic proportions and a manifestation of divine will on the human plane, being able to control matter and reality at will. He always has a mortal alter-ego.
