Silent Hill vs Resident Evil(Raccoon City) - Which is worse for the average joe?

Yeah, you read that title right. :mjlol

Saw a video about this on YouTube and it fascinated me enough to make a thread about it.

Given how Silent Hill operates, for the purposes of this thread, I won't let anyone weasel their way out by going "No trauma, therefore it's empty!". Instead, for Silent Hill, you'll be slotted into the position of any one of the protagonists of 1-4 and have to go through the same horrors that they did.

For Resident Evil side, you must start near enough to or at where one of the protagonists of 2, 3 and Outbreak are(Police station for Claire and Leon, bar for Outbreak survivors, etc.), as they're the only ones who made it out of Raccoon City, besides Nikolai, Sherry, HUNK and Ada, so they'll be your route out.

You, as the average joe in either situation, I ask you two things:

1: Which is objectively worse to deal with?

2: Whichever you pick, do you think you can survive and escape the nightmare?

Bonus Round: You have to go through all 4 games of Silent Hill as their respective protags back-to-back in order to fully escape, whilst if you pick RE, you are required to take on the pathway(and body, to make things fairer) of one of the Resident Evil protags from OG 2, 3 or Outbreak.
 
Silent Hill is more psychological than the Racoon City Incident in that it will tailor it's nightmares to you... but there is a chance that as long as you accept what happens, you can actually leave with no problems.
The Racoon City Incident though? Good fucking luck getting out of there with the assload of zombies that can take heavy gunfire in cutscenes, Lickers and Hunters all over the fucking place.
 
Which one worse basically depends on weather you think being mentally tortured or being turned into some manner of biological abomination is a worse addendum to the violent death that is all but guaranteed.

Either way, I'm confident I wouldn't survive but I'll go Resident Evil because there's at least a CHANCE you just get killed outright.

Most average people would probably choose RC thinking they can get out by being smart and planning because they know the story
 
TBF, the period between sept 23-24 you had a good chance of making it out of raccoon city. By the time of the 25th the city was on a timer and past that you're basically fucked. All of the protags got extremely lucky with finding transportation out of the city and your best bet would be the outbreak crew. Trying to hang with Leon/Claire or Jill will get you fucked pretty quickly.

Silent Hill will kill you if you don't realize you're facing yourself which most don't. Assuming you know the gimmick going in, that doesn't realy mean you'd survive either as who knows what kind of monsters would be conjured from your psyche and whether or not you live long enough to accept your demons. @Claudio Swiss would probably spawn a bunch of big tittied monster bitches and a walking castrator so he's probably fucked.

As for the questions

1. Raccoon city. Silent Hill is mental torture. Raccoon city was actual hell on earth.

2. Nah. I'd prob die helping people in racc city like a dumbass. For Silent Hill depends on what kind of demons it makes. If any of them resemble my ex you can call me Leon S Kennedy cuz imma bout to mop that hoe.

Your chances seem way worse in Raccoon City, especially if you are in the shoes of Jill and Nemesis decides to make you a target. And being on a time limit before the city goes kaboom means you have to take initiative and be in a rush which limits your ability to be cautious and lay low.

Silent Hill might be more terrifying since it's tailored to your fears, every zombie in RC was an average joe who didn't make it.
 
Silent Hill is way more dangerous due to the psychological warfare. In Raccoon City you technically at least got a chance to make it, that just doesn't really apply to Silent Hill.

I imagine almost anyone stuck on social media, yes even including this forum would get negged.
 
tbh silent hill is horrifying. its essentially hell. as for raccoon city you can escape if you know what to do. wouldn't know what ill do if im trapped in my own head.

Racoon City is alot harder to survive , hell i can see Silent Hill human cast just dying vs Zombies groups .

i guess it more depends on which version of silent hill you get in all honesty

Do you get SH1, 2, 3, or 4
Each one seems more fucked than the last tbh

Indeed, Resident Evil puts you in the shoes of people much more capable people than Silent Hill.

Silent Hill wouldn't know what hit it when boulder boxing Chris Redfield starts throwing hands with his psychological trauma.

Bruh, with how immense Chris's trauma is, if he went to Silent Hill, his nightmare world in there would make all other protags combined look like a kindergarten trip. :heston
 
I mean. Chris would be fine. He run away from Pyramid Head. Until he punches Pyrimad head once. And he realizes he can just punch his way out of Silent Hill.
