VS Battle Star Wars verse against The Flood (Halo)

This is the Empire at the start of A New Hope against a relatively small Infection force from the Flood.

Scenario 1:

  • Flood starts with 50 Infection forms on Tatooine.
  • Empire doesn't have any knowledge about The Flood.
Scenario 2:

  • The Flood starts out with 200 Infection Forms in the slums of Coruscant.
  • The Empire is aware of the Flood's potential to spread.

So, can the Flood proliferate in either scenario? Or is the Empire able to subdue the Flood in both situations?

Lucas Canon, since Disney is half baked.
Then Vader or the Emperor are perfectly fine with base-delta-zeroing the entirety of Coruscant or at least half the planet at minimum if the Emperor's precognition and clairvoyance lets him see the Flood threat. Which would most likely kill hundreds of billions of people at minimum but the leaders of the Galactic Empire really wouldn't care.

Though even if some of the Flood manage to infect humans or other aliens living in the lower parts of the city-planet, there's no way they would be able to set up even a proto-Gravemind with how the Empire operates compared to the Covenant Empire or the UNSC. You also have to remember at its peak, the Empire had hundreds if not thousands of Imperial Inquisitors, Dark Jedi, Sith acolytes, the Emperor's Hands and other dark side Force-Users roaming not just the Galactic Gore, the Inner Rim, or even the Mid-Rim but the entirety of the known galaxy hunting for threats; Jedi, rebels, Confederacy remnants, warlords, extragalactic aliens, etc...

The losses on Coruscant would be severe but the leadership wouldn't care.
