トランスフォーマーの魂のかたちは物語世界のバリエーションによって異なるが、中でも代表的なのが<スパーク>と呼ばれる、脈動する光の玉である。これは彼らの体内深くに収納され、精神網やエネルギー経路を通じて、心身と深く結びついている。これこそが、彼らの精神力の源である。

Soon after the birth of the universe, a superdimensional entity known as The One created two disciples, Primus and Unicron, to explore this new cosmos.
