its hella inconsistent, I generally grade it by Roberts/Barber era since they wrote like half the run and that’s where things like Phase Sixers got more fleshed out, where Rom and Kup’s “flew through the sun” statements come from, etc@OtherGalaxy
Isn't IDW comics inconsistent in power levels?
1.) In the prequels set on Cybertron, Optimus and the others survived an explosion that left a giant crater in Cybertron (probably a continent level feat or more due to Cybertron's size).
2.) In the Furman run, OP could crack Sixshot's armor that was made from materials from a collapses star or something (IDK what level that would be). Furthermore, I believe there was something about Thunderwing damaging Cybertron's surface. And Optimus damaged his armor. So, he should at least downscale from Thunderwing (I could be misremembering the Thunderwing stuff).
3.) In All Hail Megatron, Megatron thought a human nuke en route to destroy New York would kill Optimus. Also, I don't think Thundercracker necessarily scales to the nuke as we don't know how far he was from the detonation when he shot it.
4.) In the Costa run, both Autobots and Decepticons that included Optimus, Razorclaw (who could go toe to toe with Optimus) etc. thought wouldn't survive a nuclear assault from Russia.
In another issue from the same run, Megatron's Stealth Bomber body was hurt by a falling satelitte that was said to have hit with more power than a tactical nuke (since tactical nukes usually have low nuclear yields, its probably implying that the Kinetic Harpoon would be weaker than high yield nukes). Optimus couldn't damage Stealth Bomber Megatron at all besides cracking his window glass. I am aware Stealth Bomber Megatron can easily blow up a city with his cannon, but I am talking about his durability.
I haven't read past this though.
In fact, in a massive explosion, the character cannot take all the damage anyway, unless hit by the center of the explosion. So the Mega-Toraxxis Refinery explosion isn't much of a reference, and even Bumblebee survived while thousands of innocent transformers died all around@OtherGalaxy

I'm fucking stupid, I forgot that Galvatron was next to the detonation of the energy source of his weapon, capable of destroying a small planet. The Decepticons were able to create a weapon in a very short time that has an energy source to level small planets.

This is probably good news for lovers of multidimensional levels, transcendence to all dimensions ahahaha.
