Generation 5 should have been the last Generation of Pokémon. Generations 1 and 2 already focused on the mafia, generation 3 already focused on taking over the planet, and generation 4 already focused on taking over the universe, so there was nothing that could really work well after that, although they somehow made it work with Black and White focusing on the plot and story more than ever before, even more than Generation 4. However, the poor sales numbers and poor reception of the games as well as the shit that came after it (especially Generations 8 & 9) made them the end of an era for Pokémon and the last good Pokémon games.
