Actually the latter is not completely true if the corpse is just a dud that carries out the CL‘s visits and does smth differently altogether for them. I think the Skeleton Army was similar in Weebs and could use the abilities of ANY dead players.

My best explanation for Cata's result is that the cult redirected him and Mafia killed him. Can't see Mafia bothering with redirecting him and killing him. And obviously can't see Cult being able to kill.
