Reading between the lines, unless this is a WIFOM plan I would say the motivation to self hammer would primarily be born from preventing the town from getting more claims, I.e at least one of the unclaimed have a fair chance of being scum off the back of this. Potentially also a bad look for Gad as why not hold the fort and see if it swaps back to him?

my claim isnt particularly strong for the record, but im not in a consensus kill territory. im soft poed, but that position gives me enough credibilty to survive a few days. its less of a problem of "i dont want to claim", and more "what benefit does it bring town"
