What are the worst Retcons in fiction

To add another I wish Kishi stuck with his original concept to have Pain as the final villain instead of the revolving door of villains that he couldn't decide on. He also abuses the puppet master trope like I've never seen before.

The countries are at war and at each other's throats but they're being manipulated by Akatsuki, a group of ninja terrorists manipulated by Pain a corpse that's being manipulated by Nagato whose just a war victim manipulated by Obito whose just a cucked man-child manipulated by Madara whose another war victim manipulated by Black Zetsu whose a goopy mama's boy manipulated by Kaguya whose a corrupted tree-hugger running to escape the manipulations of the Otsutsuki.

I'm very apathetic towards the show these days, but it still does have a fuckton of wasted potential.

Even if you ignore the "they never attacked any habited worlds" nonsense, they still commited genocide and oppression against their own people (billions of gems where shattered to make the Cluster) as well as wiping out whole ecosystems and biospheres on hundreds of other planets, which even without self-aware life is still awful.

Toriyama and Toyataro + Toei deciding that Potara fusions were suddenly just "1-hour" long in duration instead of being permanent in Dragon Ball Super vs Dragon Ball's original use of it. Also changing God Ki from being unique and unfeelable/unsensable to basically saying all Ki from people from different universes is unsensable generally like with Gohan vs Okuni.

The more you think about it, the worst this twist is and how much it basically ruins Goku on multiple levels.

-Dude now cares about his parents... but due to Toriyama being Toriyama, he doesn't give a fuck about HIS OWN FAMILY(atleast the Anime Team knew that was retarded and constantly wrote around it)

-Was Goku always going to be evil if he didn't get his memory scrambled or was raised by Grandpa Gohan all along(I always did have my issues with Gine potentially fucking that up but this explicitly puts that into question now even moreso than Gine's existence because atleast she had no problem with killing off other life, just making babies do it)

-So basically everything Goku did is effectively worthless because the Dragon was legit protecting him that whole time(Atleast Pre-Raditz which barely matters worth a damn) which basically ruins the entire point of Dragonball. His meeting with Bulma? Roshi? Krillin? The various enemies he fights to get stronger and him surviving them?

Like dear lord and people STILL want to make excuses for how absolutely shit Toyotaro is and pretend "It'll be better when it's actually out!"
