That Mha chapter is even worse than the leaks made it out to be. Bakugou's power up was a complete waste of everyone's time. All he does is dodge a hit from Ashyraki before getting his heart pierced by another hit . I'm not even sure if it's good to give him Prime All Might lvl speed like niggas suggested since its clear he only dodged that 1st hit because of a feint he saw when he was crying earlier . He got trashed with ease when that opening wasn't around and his attack still did nothing .


I will admit I cried when Bakugou asked if he caught up to Izuku yet and he cried again. I cried in laughter cause it's so pathetic but it counts I guess .

Bakugou's moment lasts literally for two panels by the way. That was his last stand before crying and getting Broly'd .

All from a scene where the antagonist misses once. Goes "what the hell?" And kills him in one punch from another attack that he should have dodged again if they were truly comparable in speed. He had enough time to do it. SB doesn't do context unfortunately .

The leaks made it seem like Ashyraki couldn't keep up and that's not even what happened. Bakugou basically flash stepped behind him which he noticed. He has the time to straight up monologue to himself about how annoying this shit is before he punches him away . I had to look at it carefully because Horikoshi's fight choreography is garbage but still. Bakugou was the only one who couldn't keep up. I just kinda see them in the same ballpark
Radahn losing at Leyndell seems to be common knowledge based on the sword monuments but he's still lauded as the strongest post shattering demigod in spite of that. Just not undefeated like Malenia is.

Was Rangiku wasted potential?

I'm watching Bleach again from the beginning to get ready for the TYBW arc, and out of all the VCs, it looks like Renji, Ikkaku, Hisagi, and Rangiku had the most potential. In the SS arc, Rangiku beats Kira with not injuries, which would put her in the higher end of VC-level. AT this time...

You can't waste what wasn't there to begin with. She's only in the story at all, as a motivating factor for GIN'S actions. She solely serves to motivate another character and doesn't really have anything to work with in her own right, that one could waste.

They can deny it all they want, but ultimately the only reason Rangiku's popular is 'cause she's hot and they just want to pretend she had actual character so they can hide that fact.

I think Nanao's the hottest character in the series, doesn't mean I'm gonna sit and pretend she was more interesting or added more to the story than she actually did. Ultimately she was only there to be protected and to eventually provide a dues ex machina for Shunsui to beat Lillie with.

Nah, for a side character she had a satisfying amount of spotlight and panel-time. She accomplished her role well as a supplementary character that bounced off of the others personality-wise.

Sometimes, I wonder if people forget that side-characters are exactly that. Side-characters.

Funny how a series whose fans consistently praise how well the side-cast is treated (and use it as a plus Bleach has over other series) consistently need to use the "but they're only a side character" excuse when a character in the series is lacking.

It's almost like Bleach is no different from most shounen in this department and only a SELECT FEW side-characters were actually treated well.

This sentiment I feel is definitely applied to Bleach a lot more than other series out there.

It really isn't, more that it's fans wank this aspect so people challenge on it a lot more.

Which, frankly, just goes to show how amazing of a character designer/writer Kubo is by the fact that people desperately want even the side characters and side villains to get their own arcs and special spotlight.

Expecting Kubo to meet the bare minimum requirement to justify a character's existence in the story...show's how "amazing" of a character designer/writer he is...despite him consistently FAILING to meet that standard except with a few characters.
