Basically to me its just spamming abilities.

I mean I played in a lot of role-madness ones hosted by WAD/Florida Man and every fucking loved them over more traditional/vanilla style ones on NF. At least I know the OBD and Alley et Blender before it were huge into them.

Tbh I wouldn’t have much involvement in the SRM games either way so I don’t have a whole lot of ideas on how to make it smoother. They’re just not my jam at all. I was assuming Aries would run point on that subsection. I think our numbers for the lighter games would be solid either way. May dip a bit from what we are getting now tho I guess

Depends on which SRM, some are bound to be unbalanced but as for mine I tend to try and balance them as much as possible and most of my SRM games end up quite close and the losers usually have made mistakes that the winning side capitalized on. Just like regular mafia.

Well Aurelian's game needs 25 players right? And its still not filled up yet. I feel like for two games at once to happen you guys would need to create some sort coordinated effort with another forum. It should work with WG, that way people from there can come play here and also vice versa.

I would like OLF to have collaborations with other Mafia communities and vice versa. It helps everyone involved and can help with building a strong community

Thats what Worstgen had with Animebase and NF but those sites ended up dying out. I bet people over on WG wouldnt be opposed to a partnership. We can ask @Ratchet about it since he runs the Mafia section over there.

I actually like this idea.

Especially if you guys can recruit more people to come here to play. That means a larger base of players, which means we can have more going on at once, and that way split things up quickly so those who want role-madness style or bastard games and those who want more vanilla ones can both get a piece of the pie.

The way I see it the solutions are:

A) Give SRM/bastard/casual it’s own section and they can operate their own queue system and it would be separate from ours
B) We keep things as they are with one section so as to not split the player base, but we limit the amount of SRM games to one every now and then rather than running them regularly

I like poyser being in charge of the light games/ town of Salem, games while I handle the RM and SRM/Bastard games with sigismund. I'm the opposite I've never been interested in the smaller/ generic games. Role madness has always been my forte

The way I see it the solutions are:

B) We keep things as they are with one section so as to not split the player base, but we limit the amount of SRM games to one every now and then rather than running them regularly

The issue with making another sub-section to divide vanilla/more normal style mafia games from SRM/bastard ones is that we currently do NOT have enough posters here even with the massive recent influx of activity to feel its justifiable atm.

This could work once we reach and hit some more higher figure numbers with more new people joining.

I disagree with this, because I think the influx of recent players can easily support 20-25 player games. If there is going to b any divide, it would have to be SRM/the rest.

We understand this.

When we splintered off from Fanverse/Narutofan, the current "owner" blacklisted the links and name of our site and auto-banned dozens of posters because he viewed it as some kind of heretical thought that people would want to be on different sites at the same time. But if you can utilize your guys discord chats and servers with other people from Worstgen to come over here and play and chill, that'd be good too.

There's not much interest period, and with you all joining that more or less makes the balance of people who like SRM/RM vs vanilla game equal. The "OG playerbase" for here were more or less people used to Aries games (SRM) on NF that came over, but after the first big game we had planned fell through thanks to the host dipping and never showing back up, the section died and only small vanilla games could be formed.

I gather y'all are pretty into competitive ranked vanilla mafia, and the section and players more or less native to here are just about the most causal and flippant player base I've seen on mafia sites lol. These are the same players who joined from NF thanks to Aries, who . I think this discussion of splitting the section up is happening far far too soon, and honestly doesn't matter much at this stage.

I mean, we are technically not an Anime Forum, the anime and manga section is smaller than this Mafia section.

The problem is "RM" is pretty vague at this stage. The Elden Ring game for example had vanilla roles, but would otherwise be classed as RM.
