For me, as soon as a Meta happens in fightin games, I get bored.Fighterzzz
like don't get me wrong I did like the game but it became super stale after a year. It didnt help everyone was playing virtually the same teams for years straight because they didnt want to nerf chars like K.goku or Bardock. Then they did nerf them and they were still the best chars in the game. Wawa became the most exciting player to watch for a while because his B.Goku was sick but it went back to being boring shortly after.
They changedbthe way assist work and have been updating it relatively frequently but it hasnt changed much. Strive was the same especially watching it. At least melty is still fun to play atm
Marvel 2,3 and Tekken 7 I can watch all day though
As with fighterz, as soon as vegeta became a permanent assist and such, I thought it boring. every time just kinda looked the same, and no matter how much someone tried to pull with Hit or Buu, they would always be inferior and never chosen, over Bardock, Goku or Vegeta.
Strive could be fun, but I dont really have interest.
I'll give melty a chance these days.
My my OG's were always Marvel 2,3, Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat 10.
Yeah they had to nerf vegeta assist into nearly being useless because it was almost a must pick. It and K.buu assist couldn't be matched when it came to locking people down and combo starters/extenders.
Then even if you didn't take either of those you at least needed a beam assist to cover space. But at least there was much more flexibility there n terms of character choice and options since not every beam did the same.
Then Bardock and K.goku happened lol

While I do watch Marvel 3 alot, it's honestly pretty damn boring compared to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom(which sadly does not have anywhere near the number of recurring tournies Marvel 3 has... an absolute shame).
Fighterz is in the weirdest state as it's definitely less boring than before but otherwise people still primarily still stick with the same characters and thus there is less variety outside of a few gimmicks here and there.
I barely watch Strive as it's honestly never really caught my eye that much and Melty Blood is definitely cool but I never got the chance to play the series and atm, I can't go and buy Type Lumina yet due to other games being on my sights.
And Tekken 7 honestly comes off way too stiff compared to Dead or Alive in general so while I do watch Tekken 7, it's usually me trying to desperately not say in the back of my head how jank it looks lol.
Samurai Shodown definitely gets my attention as well as KOF.
Street Fighter 5 literally bores me to tears to the point I just avoid it every chance I get and Mortal Kombat XI is even worse.

i know nothing about tekken 7 but it's honestly hype as hell to watch. this had me geeking and i aint even know what was going on
I liked TvC a lot but we got way to used to playing modded TvC to play the real one at one point
MB is an old fav tbh. Originally started with Mugen but after getting interested in the chars we got MB and then went into the VNs back in the early 2000s.
Outside of mv2 and 3 Tekken just has some of the best hype shit. And thats remained consistent with Tekken 7. Its also the most frustrating and at the same time one of the most rewarding games to play personally. DoA has always been fun but never really got a chance to get to competitive with it as most of my friends never had any interest in the games. 6 comes out and peeps wanna give it a try but after it gets removed from Evo everyone changed their minds. That said SC has been my fav of the three 3D games
I also cant do this in T7 or DoA
so SC is greater for that alone
Yeah I keep forgetting about SCVI and I don't know why but yeah, the game definitely comes off better after the change to that one ability they added into it.
Majin was one of the only American's to make it that far and is generally regarded as the best King in the world and JDCR is perhaps the BEST player on the planet followed by Knee but the two are interchangable
