"cased" patheticYou said you had a tinfoil with nothing.
I cased you.
You then omgus me and said I was the tinfoil all along when you can't even prove that.
get on my level magic
I'm going to start off my case with the above exchange.
"Now Hime, what is this supposed to mean?"
Patience, we'll build up there slowly.
Let's start with what happened in Day 1:
Day 1 is rather unremarkable in the grand scheme of the game because the strategy only really starts in Day 2, but there are a few key things I'd like to focus on.
This was an early sus of Ultra's. It dissipated later in the phase, but this is important to note going forward because it SCARED Magic.
Day 1 ended with Ultra making a case on Tempest and Tempest getting executed.
Night 1:
I can't tell you exactly what happened this night, but I'm going to assume Flower was shot due to blatantly stating that she had an extremely powerful role. Obviously this would've failed.
NOTE: Magic was fully aware of this.
Let's get into Day 2:
Since I'm too lazy to find every quote, I'll be summarizing some portions. As everyone knows, Flower started the day with results on Magic that supposedly cleared him. Magic was now in a position of power. Although he was essentially in Ultra's "good books" towards the end of Day 1, it's not necessarily good enough. Ratchet, Ultra, and the like are extremely good players. They are able to sway many people onto wagons they believe are scum. If Ultra got the suspicion that Magic was the serial killer and was able to build a strong enough case, it would be bad for him. Moreover, now that he (Magic) was essentially "confirmed", he was put in a tricky position. How do you survive until you are the last player remaining?
ANSWER: By making god-awful reads and pushing strong players.
No scum would want you off the table if they are benefitting from your thread presence. Hence, it's easy for people to understand why you're still alive.
With Ratchet dead and having already butted heads with Ultra the day before, who better to start incessantly calling scum?
Going to also note that Magic started off the phase with calling Gad scum undoubtedly.
Here Fuji is telling Magic how the play is too risky for scum to do like that Day 1 unless Gad is scum.
NOTE: Magic wanted Ultra lynched before Gad.
Gad read starts getting weaker. Magic is looking for a possible way to push mislynches before having a scum flip as it would be easier for town to solve based on flipped scum.
"And why would Magic want scum to be alive longer?"
We'll get there, don't worry.
Gad read weakened.
If you take this into context, this is an extreme overreaction from Magic to the point where it reads entirely fake.
No one really expected the execute to happen and it happened due to a confirmed town simply dropping a vote. Ultra was wrong on Tempest who other people had as scum, INCLUDING Ratchet (which there are several quotes of Magic saying Ratchet didn't think Tempest was scum which is just dogshit). Punishing a player so harshly by trying to lynch them for wanting pressure on a slot that happened to flip town is stupid. By that logic, Magic should be scum on steroids for his extreme tunnel vision on Ultra plus Ekko. The only difference is that other people agreed with Ultra's bad read unlike Magic.
Lies??
Ratchet correctly tied RDK and Gad together as scum and left them at the bottom in his legacy reads.
I believe Magic got tired of Ekko defending Ultra and decided to sus him as well. Not to mention, Ekko dropped a tracker hint that phase which I believe Magic is keen enough to notice. Better to rid town of their voices (Ultra and Ekko), right?
Also Ekko and Ultra are obvious town, if he (Magic) kept pushing them, he would surely have an excuse for why he was left alone by scum.
Pt. 2 of Magic getting irritated by Ekko defending Ultra.
Magic's ISO is far too large to fully encapsule, and there are areas I didn't get a chance to read back even at this stage in the game, but to summarize what happens later, Magic starts heavy sussing Ekko as well. He only turns back to Gad when Gad is spewing and there is no point in trying to defend him anymore. Might as well get the credit for it, right?
Let's skip ahead to the end of Day 2, when Melkor claimed Seraph Knight who targeted Magic.
Now obviously it's extremely fishy, as the results clearly say otherwise, but does that matter to Magic? Hell NO! Ekko must be scum!
Also I'd like to draw your attention to the following quotes:
I'm pretty certain Magic originally intended on claiming vanilla town when it came down to it because a doctor claim while being a "confirmed" town is absolute death in any sense. He would not be able to survive and then be able to wifom himself out of serial killer suspicions on him.
Anyway, the last bolded quote basically outs this. RDK didn't claim a protective role so Melkor isn't counterclaimed, hence Ekko is just scum trying to farm claims. But silly Magic didn't expect to have to claim bodyguard later. If he was town, he would instantly think of himself as the counterclaim to Melkor, but he didn't.
More to come, I need a break. This keeps getting better though, trust me.
