In an interview at WonderCon 2016, over two years after the initial announcement, Kevin Munroe stated that the film had yet to enter production.

Ratchet & Clank film, Rainmaker president Michael Hefferon said that the studio would have to reconsider the release schedule and budget for
Sly Cooper.
[13] On January 23, 2017, Rainmaker Studios uploaded a new trailer to their YouTube channel with one minor difference: the words "Breaking Into Theaters In 2016" were replaced with "The Movie."

Sly Cooper movie as "in development."
