Found this calc putting it at mountain level which seems pretty reasonable to me. Since again, the meteor didn’t catch fire while they were already in the atmosphere and it was a gradual process of Mark slowing it down.
Plus he didn’t simply smash a rather small meteor like that for whatever reason
Except it did catch fire right before he stopped it.
The meteor was coming from deep space while Mark was slowing it down and it was still moving fast enough that just hitting the edge of the atmosphere was enough for it to burst into flames
And that was at the very end of its deceleration because Mark stops it two seconds later.
