I want to ask about this character named Gideon Ofnir, is his title of "the All Knowing" just hype or is he really one of the most knowledgeable characters in the game and therefore the most reliable for lore info out of every character you talk to?

He's the Tarnished Leader of the Roundhold, the equivalent in Elden Ring to the Knights of the Round Table. Gideon has been around for a *long* time since Godfrey the first Elden Lord, was banished from the Lands Between and is one of the first Tarnished. He knows a shit ton but he is not omniscient or like that.
Oh so he was around even before the Elden Ring was broken?
And I was not asking if he was omniscient but just if he is one of the most knowledgeable characters. If he is as old as you say than it at least points to him being one of the most trust worthy in terms of information.
He knows a lot, but there's a lot of stuff he doesn't know. There's even a side-quest where you help him learn about the whereabouts of the unlocated demi-gods.

I've been told his name is supposed to be Mogh, not Mohg.
His skill set is based entirely on your progress and what you do. Guy is like "if you wanna be one of us you gotta pull your weight and get those great ones." When you're literally the only one who has any great runes, and the closest runner up is actually Vyke. Gideon basically stalks you throughout the game, and copies all your moves.

So the Dragons were defeated by the Giants, and the giants were defeated by the Empyreans, right? The Dragons were the original Lords of the Lands Between until the Greater Will sent the crew in to clean the land up for terraforming
I thought the Dragons got defeated by Godfrey and co when they invaded Leyndell
I see it now. So it was Marika and her family who eradicated all of the major players. I had read it wrong. The Dragons ruled the Mountaintop for awhile until the Giants drove them out. That just lets me know how powerful the Giants were compared to the Dragons.
