I vaguely remember some murderhobo guy from the cyberpunk comic who was capable of blitzing cyber enhanced people and piercing the medical teams hovercraft with his knives.

Don't quote me on that last part, it's been a long time since i read those comics.

A lot of cyber psychos are literally murder hobos. Military veterans get treated like garbage by mega corps, and thrown into the streets without medication for their PTSD. Random homeless people are loaded up with tons of dangerous military grade cyberware as a result, and firearms are so commonplace in Night City even they have access to Tech Weapons. Which as I mentioned already? Are literal electromagnetic railguns.

There's even random hobos asking for ammo instead of eurodollars. And literally everybody has ammo on them. Except some homeless people, and even then they can whip out a dixie cup for some. Pedestrians got ammo to spare.

"Sir, I need to rob that grocery store over there because I am hungry. Can you spare a few bullets?"

"Why don't you just ask for eddies to buy them?"

"I am also trying to make a snuff film in this brain dance I am about to scroll. Which requires that I murder at least several illegal immigrants. They sell for thousands of eddies on the black market."

"My God, that's horrible. Here you go, sir. Twelve bullets. Make them count."

Average Night City exchange. Place is literally worse than Detroit.

Darn. Now I wanna make some cyberpunk threads. But I'm on my phone and can't provide feats for my obscure tastes. 😢

Not even joking there are entire side-quests where various gangs work on "scrolling" for brain dances. Scrolling is when you actually do something in real life, and record it via your cyberware. Then through brain dancing a person can experience what you did without actually doing it themselves.

This includes both murder and suicide, and murder/suicide. Rape. Torture. The whole shebang. Night City is a horrible place.

The moment vampires appear they will be considered an exotic commodity in the black market. For people who want to experience some real vampire hunting. And also vampire rape because Night City.

It didn't hesitate to have major characters like Evelyn Parker get screwed over by these same people. After the Voodoo Boys fried her cyberware? Her pimp for all intents and purposes raped her paraplegic body. Then passed her off to a crooked Ripperdoc named Fingers. Who is as creepy as his name implies. Then he sold her to some guys scrolling murder/rape snuff films.

Though V can murder everybody involved in this criminal enterprise, and it feels very satisfying to do so.

Deathlok vs Night City? It's pretty much the embodiment of everything he despises, including himself. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/65/98/37/659837e811179ad381cbac0383fc819a.jpg

They don't call him the demolisher for nothing though.

To be fair, this is mostly just Maelstrom but there are a few other gangs that deal in this stuff too.

Valentinos are outright righteous, and typically end up fighting the nastier parts of the underworld. Since as a gang the Valentinos are very religious and old fashioned. They believe in family and honor. You see people like Jackie clearing out scavengers. Scavengers are cyberware and organ harvesters. They kidnap people, and kill them for their bits and bobs.

Moxes are also good. Since they are former sex workers, and protect each other from bastards who get too violent. Lizzie for example blew off the balls of one Tyger Claw who beat and raped one of her strippers. 6th Street are military veterans, and thus handle themselves professionally.

The Animals are just gym bros, and they usually do work as bouncers protecting night clubs.

Voodoo Boys are really bad though. Besides betraying Evelyn, and frying her cyberware? They want to take down the Blackwall, and boot lick the rogue AIs/daemons/ghosts past it.

Also, more on the Monowire. Though it is noted to be hard to get? It is available on the black market, and corpos/mercs/cyberpunks have access to it.

And even military-grade cyberware available circa 2023 allowed Adam Smasher, Morgan Blackhand, and Johnny Silverhand to survive the Militech nuke in Arasaka Tower.

Both Adam Smasher and Morgan Blackhand survive the Militech nuke going off in Arasaka Tower. They were on top of the building when it blew. How durable would both of their cyberware need to be in order to survive that?

Taken from Cyberpunk RED.

Both Morgan and Adam were fighting on the building when the nuke went off. They were on the roof near the AV the Militech team used. However, they were both left behind along with Johnny.

Johnny's body also survived, and they were able to salvage it from the wreckage.

Also, there might be a supernatural element to the net and cyberspace. Daemons, which are quickhack programs, might also be actual daemons. Since all of this is derived from the net. Which might actually be hell held back by the Blackwall.

Maximum Mike is Mike Pondsmith. So, this is almost basically like Word of God.

Just to add to this. Here is another occult blood ritual used by some Maelstrom. It ended up turning a Netrunner into a cyberpsycho, and it was the result of straddling the line between life and death. Where the Netrunner "heard" things they shouldn't have. Which drove them insane.

Mike Pondsmith also confirmed that the reason Johnny's memories are messed up is because of the radiation damage he took. Which means his body definitely got hit by the blast. That, and the engram process not recording it properly. It was a combination of those two things.

Which again means mid-tiers like Johnny, even circa 2023 with dated cyberware, can survive being at ground zero of nukes that can kill half a million people. The only problem is the rads messing with their memories.

Cyberpunk RED also confirms that Netrunners have light-speed processing speed, and that the bomb that went off in Arasaka Tower was akin to the Davey Crocket. Approximately 0.1 kiloton of TNT, or 100 tons of TNT. It detonated near the top of the building at floor 120. Where Kei's apartment was. So you can't argue that Adam Smasher, Morgan Blackhand, and Johnny Silverhand survived due being far away from it. The Arasaka Tower only had a 120 floors, and it exploded at the very top of it.

It also killed 500,000 people almost instantly.
