I’m left wondering how to play this support. Do you play it with Kaito’s Galaxy Photon or with generic good Level 8 monsters?

Obviously there is some tie-in support that works with Kaito. One thing for sure

With the power of the Beyonders, Mr. Fantastic, Franklin Richards, and the Molecule Man began to reconstruct the Multiverse. Each time a reality was created, a portion of Molecule Man was sliced off to go with it as an anchor, additionally making Owen better and healing him. It was during the recreation of the multiverse that Owen seemingly repaid his debt to Miles by resurrecting his mom, Rio, and transposing much of his life from Earth-1610 to Earth-616. Years following the Future Foundation's multiversal adventures, a mysterious being called the Griever at the End of All Things — who repudiated the Future Foundation's mission of creating new universes — confronted the team as soon as Franklin was depleted of his ability to create entirely new realities. During her attack on the Future Foundation, she killed the Molecule Man's main body. Following that, the Future Foundation led by Alex Power went on a quest to reassemble Molecule Man's pieces, but the Maker was able to steal the pieces for himself.
It was eventually revealed that Owen survived the attack by the Griever by placing all of his consciousness into one molecule and teleporting to the Microverse.
