    T-Pein had a pretty good idea with using it on players hard to lynch. Basically, there are three ways mafia reliably reduces the PoE for the lynchpins - Their 2 shot cop - Nightkills - Lynches So Mafia need to try and get lynches onto players that they neither kill through or cop. So leaving the more mislynchable around to be checked off by that route instead of burning kills or cop shots on them makes a lot of sense.

    For the record, the second cop was, as you would see, between Ultra and Gram, too. Some players are just magnets for actions, usually out of reputation they've earned, so I think consideration has to be given here.

    The problem is, certain players aren't really allowed to coast, and besides, playing a game by not playing it seems rather unfun to me. It's really, really hard to basically carry the game and be extremely disciplined in your play throughout the whole game. Little things, like Lethal self-voting, give away a lot to scum, but a lynchpin making a similar mistake is them dead and with it, potentially the game for the town. I haven't really looked at the chess game, but my understanding was it wasn't really mafia? I don't think it can really be compared here, especially with the intensity the games here seem like they will be played at (for the better, mind).

    Would have to claim something like Ryuk for that, and the risk is obviously being checked by scum, and a Survivor has no reason to push anyone besides. Especially in this setup (and by flavour, Kira being able to kill a Shinigami makes no sense, neither does L being able to arrest them). It's definitely more pressure, because if you make any mistake you risk the game straight up. This game is a pretty good example of that, actually.

    Last time, in Maid Wars, almost everyone complained about it and I think it kills discussion too. One of those games I'd run as a side affair to a bigger one that's running if/when this place gets there. I was concious of the small size of the game here, as I'd noticed some discussion around a chunk of players not getting to play, which is why I tried to speed phases up too (which I think I did a reasonably good job with).

    I think you could probably also consider that he was a Lynchpin, so there is an extra degree of pressure there too. It's probably one of the hardest roles to play, because while the rest of the town want to fool scum into thinking that they're lynchpins, the lynchpins want to make scum think that they're vanilla.

    I don't really have an issue with that. It's a learning experience at the end of the day, and I'm pretty certain I'm in a comfortable minority of 1 of players/hosts who like lynchpins besides (I also like Kingmaker, so...). As a first run around, I don't think it was a horrible attempt - claiming was mostly controlled and later in the game I think the general strategy clicked on for players, which is really all I hoped for. I think, as long as there was some fun to be had by most, I'm satisfied. I have definitely gotten too comfortable with lynchpins lately though, so next one I end up hosting *probably* won't have them.

    Ekko, in this game, should almost never be lynched because his claim is both veritable and self-resolving. In the end, I obviously have a preference for majority, but most of the complaints for it seem to be either it's too hard to get a consensus or it enables sheeping. To which I say, a forced consensus is better than a couple of votes being able to lynch a player, and that plurality also enables sheeping in the same way majority does.

    It's not even really about the slip. Once it's clear that a player can't be a lynchpin, scum can move on from them for free here. The reason it's Death Note theme'd is it emulates the cat-and-mouse chase of the series. While there is still a plausible argumnt for that player to be scum, the town have incentive to lynch them.

    I think the blame being passed onto the lynch system is misplaced, honestly. I had a very similar discussion with Ekko in the dead chat. The problem with Plurality is it puts too much emphasis on the final hour or whatever of the day, whereas Majority encoruages discussion round the lynch from the off. It does require compromise, by design, but the town are supposed to work to a compromise anyway. Evans on early in the game was put to L-2, imagine if that was a flash wagon late in the day and he isn't around to claim against it. Additionally, I think "cfds" are pretty chaotic and not exactly good town practice anyway, so them not being enabled really isn't a concern to me.

    They only had two shots. Moreover, if Doddsy had died before T-Pein used both shots, T-Pein would have to choose between killing or investigating.

    ...I had anticipated it would be used specifically to try and force a speed lynch in some scenarios or cause some confusion. I think, I'd probably rework it next time, or maybe do away with it entirely. As for honourable mentions, I do have a tough time here. I felt like most of the town struggled to make themselves look obviously town or clear themselves, and it was mostly coupled with off-reads. The off-reads is understandable as it's harder to scumhunt in this game, which is why the town *generally* has more chances than normal to kill Scum (on average, about 4 mislynches to get two scum). I think most would admit to not having their best game, though. In spite of saying this, I think Craig deserves his props - he caught onto Doddsy, and generally had one of the better games from the town. So he is my first one. For the second one, earlier I was leaning towards Gram, for making the best of a bad situation he was given with Evans, but I think I've come around to Doddsy. I...

    Would have relied on the Mafia to not kill Gram. I felt like I couldn't end it based on what was likely from the thread, as I believe games should be called independent of the threadplay as there is always a chance someone makes a mistake or is swayed elsewhere. I apologise if you feel like you were hung out to dry for that day phase, but I felt it would be better than calling it too early and overstepping.

    The night passed in no time at all, and the team once again went to another long day of tryng and failing to catch a killer that could not be caught. Once they arrived, though, there was a commotion outside of their HQ. On the fencing around the building, a young boy, with snow-white hair, appeared to have jumpd off the building and impaled himself upon it. which had pierced straigh through his heart. The corpse was still warm, indicating it had only happened recently. Most disturbingly, however, was the deranged grin on the boy's face, as if he had been in ecstasy. After checking the possessions on the body, and confirming with the old man who had been there every day, they confirmed that boy was in fact the detective they'd known as N. Apparently, L had died with a similar expression on his face. Relief, ultimately, was felt by them all. At long last, they no longer had to suspect each other. An aged man spoke out to one of the youngest members of their team. "Hey...

    With despair having set in, there was a sense of futility in even bothering to continue catching Kira. The room was mostly silent for the day, aside from a few awkward attempts to break the frosty atmosphere. Towards the end of the day, one investigator proposed that, maybe, he was Kira all along, and just didn't know it. Mogi looked the simple type, but with no better leads, there was nothing more to it. He would be in confinement until it was all over which, if the current atmosphere was anything to go by, would be soon. Poyser/Kanzo Mogi, a Vanilla Towny, was lynched. It is Night 5. Day 6 will begin within 12 hours.
