How unlikable Kratos is in those games? - Well first off, we need to see him being a monster first for his eventual redemption to have the impact you want it to. Second, if you're going chronologically then you have FOUR straight games worth of material (Ascension, Chains of Olympus, GOW1 and Ghost of Sparta), all of which feature a Kratos who (while deeply flawed) is sympathetic enough that you can still root for him. I THINK Digimon World Data Squad (english name for Digimon Savers, Masaru's season) did a little of that though I've never played it so I can't be sure. I'm fine with the classic partner set-up so it's not really something I need to see. Although perhaps a more beat 'em up/action style game with the Frontier characters (who turn into Digimon themselves) could be pretty good?

Depends how you do it really. Something like Ogremon in Digimon Adventure felt very forced and rushed because the guy had been pretty indisputably evil up to that point, then suddenly he's a good guy just because Mimi and Jyou bandaged him up. And I like Ogremon (wish he was used more often) but I ain't gonna pretend that shit wasn't hamfisted. Whereas Tamers actually took its time with Impmon/Beelzebumon's entire character arc, to the point where everything from his fall into madness to his eventual redemption actually felt earned and made sense. Largely contributing to him being my favorite fictional character ever. Or even looking at Dragon Ball examples, Vegeta and Piccolo are my two favorite characters because it worked with them, whereas #17 even being alive was some bullshit and Majin Buu was a bit cheap. :maybe

I do agree that we were robbed, as I would have liked to see these spirits used in the series as something other than pieces of the Hyper Spirit Evolutions. Sure we get the bit where they help save the Baby Digimon against the Royal Knights and are part of the final attack against Lucemon, but I would have liked to see them used by the kids themselves at some point. I do like the art and the designs he's given them for these "uncorrupted forms" and I liked that he even gave them Fusion Evolutions. HOWEVER the one complaint I do have is that I would have liked to see Mermaid attributes incorporated into the Beast or Fusion forms for the water spirit to keep it more in line with AncientMermaimon Mostly 'cause I really like this design, it's one of my favorite Ancient Legendary Warrior designs actually. They could have done something like this but more heavily armored (because Fusion Evolutions surpass the Ancient forms), but still pretty good video overall.

Makes sense, there really isn't much more they can do with Ash as a character at this point. Though I am surprised they're going to go with wholesale new characters for Paldea, instead of at least bringing Ash in as a mentor to one or both of the new characters. I still expect he'll appear at some point with the occasional cameo, possibly even an exhibition battle vs the Paldea Champion? :maybe It'll be interesting to see how different the show is without Ash, weather or not it can even work at this point given just how long he has been the main character?
