I did kind of like that about Goku vs Jiren round 3, after seeing Vegeta's Final Flash fail and he can't activate Ultra Instinct, so he switches to tricks and techniques to try to ring out Jiren. Too bad Jiren is as much of a wall in power as he is in personality.

I feel like this should have been known for a while now, which is why Goku and Vegeta only used Blue in the Broly movie, and not Kaioken or Evolved as their strongest forms. It's extra noticeable with Evolved because that was in both the anime and manga ToP arcs. I think it was said that this movie was being made at the tail end of Broly and the script was being made before the Moro and Granola arc, so it's not going to have any of the character development from those arcs.
