I'll admit that I actually really enjoyed TFA when it came out, and as a standalone movie I still enjoy it: I believe that underneath its issues is a lot more good that unfortunately gets overshadowed by the later movies retroactively ruining TFA in its entirety. TLJ and TROS are complete ass though, and I don't see anybody warming up to them ten years from now.
Damn, I know it wasn't perfect and all, but DBS is making GT look like a masterpiece. Straight up Boruto levels of bad here. Guns > Ninjas, after all :cat
Mild take: time travel stories aren't inherently bad or confusing. Most issues regarding it usually come from writers getting too hung up on the butterfly effect or paradoxes. If you go 'softer' with time travel while still providing at least some decent reason for why paradoxes aren't happening everywhere you go (usually via multiverse theory) then usually you'll be fine from my experience.
