    Super Robot Wars: Calamitous Dawn

With the Custodes request, Valrin withdrew all of his power and systems from the AI Infected Knight, as the last few backdoors into the systems core were shut off by the quick work do the Pilot and stalling work of the AI. However before full leaving it systems, Valrin swore, the AI stared into him. In a way he hadn't seen or felt before. AI shouldn't have been capable of detecting his psychic presence, but it did. It would have to be watched. Closely. Valrins gaze landed upon Liam. Well there was an idea, and he and already expressed interest in AI. Convincing Liam to remove an AI core from a Knight for study for "replication" would be trivial. Keeping Liam from making as many AI he could and installing them everywhere would be the harder issue. Possible need to restrict supply lines, but the status of the supply lines here are unknown. This plan is best brought up later. Each of the Knights ended up opening their cockpits and the Scions walked a bit out to show their faces...

Ignus's systems picked up a familiar signal from that Knight that confirmed his own words An Abominational Intelligence A horror of the Dark Age once more returned. Ignus immediately started scanning all channels, using every noosphere, lazer or radio backroad to connect into this Knights systems. The invading of the pilots mind at this moment is not a diplomatic possibility, so Valrin set his psychic might into reinforcing Ignus's Interrogation of the AI's systems. The Lord Custodes would surely back up such action, open admitting of use of AI is agaisnt the creed of Both the Mechanicum and the Imperium. Disabling the mobile suit until the AI is removed and further determined is a more than suitable response.

Valrin looked around the hangar. Null was capable of Flight Kazuki... where ever he was, Valrin believed he could recall that Kazuki's mech could fly. Daniel's mech could fly, and even the Scion who had died in the Ship had a knight capable of flight. Now the next one was in low orbit. Ignus stared up in pure contempt. Valrin knew the next time that Ignus's guns would fire, it would be overkill.

"I meant that for the Ceran Crew who insist upon themselves. That flash was a Flash of Warp energy, which always carries a chance of corruption. Im merely assuring anyone that if they do fail to resist the efforts of the memetic agents to enter this reality, they won't be in such a state for long"

"It is no exaggeration I can assure you" Valrin speaks up in support of the Custodes. "If the Lord Custodes had wished it, he could move fast enough to kill everyone here before the bio electric impulses from your synapses even fire. Myself very much included. The only real worry would be... the lack of Titanic scale firepower, but the scale of his armor alone has its own advantages"

Sheer awe That was all that consumed Valrin Sheer awe. He could do naught but obey. Then the true voice of the Custodes rang out and Valrin answered. "Gellar Field Failure and subsequent infestation of 99% of the ship. With the possibility of Warp Born Contagion infecting this reality, the Senior surviving Magos and I decided to detonate the Plasma reactor, then to order a further orbital bombardment on the remains, Lord Custodes"

The sheer Aura of the Custodes... Ignus Immediately shut down his self destruction protocol. Valrin even withdrew all of his psychic power back to within his own soul. "Since you are awake now to in-act your plan, I aquess to your orders whatever they may be Lord Custodes". Even as an Inquisitor, you didn't override Custodes. The Voice of the Omnissiah himself. Valrin couldn't continence to work against this Custodes plans, whatever they may be, now that he knew he ran astray in His eyes. As such Valrin then turned around and walked back into the crowd of the crew.

Ah, escalation, a language Valrin was well familiar with. "And I believe you dont know your actual position, boy. If your wish is to destroy our mechs, I can help you in such an endeavor" "Code Override Exemplar" As Valrin spoke those words, the Ryders nearest to Ignus were shocked by a massive radiation and temperature spike from Ignus itself. Before any reaction could be condoned, a long held process of Ignus finished. He had identified all of the communication networks around the SunRider and the base itself. On every channel, Radio, Internet, Hardline, even telegraph, Ignus sent interferences. Data Plagues, self replicating viruses and Scrap code thought lost to the Dark Age suddenly flooded every system nearby. Especially the nearby Ryders. From every loud speaker, praises to the Omnissiah rang out in cheer, echoing down the halls. Then Valrin looked the General in the eyes. "A Plasma Reactor overload as such normally produces a yield between 500 Kilotons and 10.5...

Valrin upon sensing his indignity, did the only thing any Imperial Official did when confronted with surrender. He would stretch it out to be as painful as possible. "Actually, yes I do have a question. Why are you so indignant after most of this was your own fault? You're the one who ordered our interrogations without due process, a right upon any world owned by Men. Do correct me if I am wrong there, please, I'll have further criticisms to share. With the destruction of the Cruiser, we saved you a hazardous memetic disease from being spread across your world. Even after that was explained by your Naval Detachment, you're the one who ordered us apprehended by a Military force to be brought here. Then you decide to visit us with the lack of Hospitality, treating us as enemies or criminals for a detonation in a lifeless desert far away from any Settlement that harmed noone , and act offended when after such a slight upon us, when I return it in kind. " Valrin stares then directly...

"Glad that we came to an understanding" Valrin grabbed Vicious's limp hand at his side, weathering the murderous glare he recieved in turn. After he shook his hand Valrin then wiped his hand on the wall, then on Daniel, as he proceeded to start walking back to the ship. Valrin paused in his walk to look back at Vicious: "do you want us to handle that or should you?"

Valrin opened his mouth... only to be cut off by Daniel's responce. Ah an excellent responce! "My associate here is correct. The initial Interview was done without due process on the only Civilian among us. In Human culture, such an act is abhorrent, so I acted as a legal representative for my associates as is the right for all Humans to have. I did not influence them to do anything they did not want to do. Instead after I pointed out their lack of hospitality by Human standards, their commanding officer offered his judgment. After that, he decided to help destress his troops to be more accommodating to any of us who follows. I had nothing to do with his decision making." "But I suppose the commanding officer sent to meet with us agreed with you that bringing us here was a mistake. Infact, he personally recommended that we be assigned to the Sunrider as Auxiliary forces. Where you, presumably, would be able to keep some sort of watch over us. Considering Ignus and mine own...

    Super Robot Wars: Calamitous Dawn

"Then you understand our charge and our duty. Its our goal to make sure this world never gets into position that burning it should be an option. Thus that requires the population to be ignorant of the true horrors of reality. Ignorance is truly bliss, the Truth only damns, I have seen the cycle go many times. A few believe that they are strong enough, that they and their enlightened populations know better. Those are the worlds I failed. Those I the worlds I could not even burn, for they were claimed by Hell. Those are my greatest failures, my truest regrets, thus my fuel to my hate, to my faith to make sure with all of my soul, with all of my power that it doesn't happen again. So sending a few grunts to go get drunk to forget what they heard is an extremely generous method, fair more than anyother of my peers would have done. Even with as little power we have with the Government, if a Mono Dominate stood before you, We'd already be emboralled deeply in War with this government...

Ah now real questions, and thus deserving a response. Valrin looked towards Daniel in his reply, the crew already knew of this basic truth so they also would hear his words, the truth they already knew. "Yes it is infact such a risk to allow anyone who has not demonstrated will to resist them. Usually even you, Liam and the others would not be permitted to keep your memories, but with the extreme nature of your first true exposer, you already know better than to consort with such beings. You already saw how that officer reacted to Liam's true words, to warn them would draw nothing but scoffs. However much you repress, do remember the whispers upon the vessel. In that tainted place and with my warnings you knew it was wrong. However this planet is not so tainted. So the Whispers would be far more subtle. Instead of obvious intrusive thoughts, one would think them their own thoughts however dark. Everyone has such thoughts, easily dismissed by the Moral. But each whisper is a single...

"They aren't the crew of a ship, they're garrison guards on an Army base, that our now assigned Naval ship stopped off at, as you'll note from our ground containment, and the massive Anti Air defenses. Thus any complants from the Army would have to first make it past the Navy, at which point we would hopefully be at another base, and the graze of Amsec, time and convincing of one's self, would cover our tracks. Even then, the ones causing the damage are Army personel, and to admit that such a mess was caused by their own personel to another branch would probably be unthinkable, without at least ample time to make suitable excuses. Time for us to gain enough distance, leverage and let tempers die down." "However, you're correct, such feats do take a strain on my mind, but really, to convince a bunch of army grunts to blow off their job and get drunk took next to no effort. Even then you could see enough of my strain that I caused the Officer to bleed, not a common occurrence I've...

    Super Robot Wars: Calamitous Dawn

Valrin strode out of the room beside his fellow. At the statement leveled, He then about faced to address Daniel directly. "I was not wrong in saying you lacked Legal testimony. Even in such events, for this level of civilization they didn't even bother citing any laws to postpone any rights. Even my most Puritan peers scream their transgressions and laws the accused is being charged with. Also I was honest in saying they were rude. Furthermore I was not wrong in saying even the knowledge of such beings is dangerous even existing. Thankfully the officer was... pliable to reason. So were the rest of these fine gentlemen" Valrin then spread his hands to indicate the Guards around them, each lost in their own little worlds. An epiphany stuck Valrin. If Ceran hospitality tracked, might as well try and make as much of a impact as possible. Barbarians. Also the physical destruction needed an explanation, or else some people may become suspicious and too many questions would be asked...

After Liam had left the room, Valrin took his words as invitation to enter the room. The lock was simple to by pass, a mere amount of force ejected it, and the 3 electronic bolts from the wall to the floor. The opening of the door, and its slamming upon the ground, allowed Valrin to hear the tail end of the conversation from both sides. "Yet such studies are not beyond my grasp" With that utterance Valrin captured the eyes of the Interrogator as he entered the room. The officer's indignant standing up interrupted by whatever he saw in Valrins pitch eyes. "No need to stand for my arrival, I believe if you're civilized enough that Legal representation is afforded to all of those descended of Man interrogated regardless of standing. Thus I have arrived to represent my peers. You already interviewed another, and a mere civilian at that, without due process. Truly Ceran hospitality has made a name for itself." "Memetic is the best way to describe such creatures, unlike my peers and...

"I will slate your curiosity about the armor later in a more secure location if that is what you fancy, but the nature of the runes upon it means that no, giving a fragment of the armor away would render any point moot. I do not lie when I say I have nothing to share."

Sharing Information with a Xenos??? Valrin stared at Liam for a split second, incredulous. Then realizing Liam was serious, Valrin came up with an excuse that was true: " I have nothing to share, but your... predicament with my methods should work as enough of a bridge between you and him to get at least the basics. Start with just that and do not let him know I was the one to point you in his direction, or else your cause is lost".

As Valrin started to walk through the door he hear Liam whispering to himself: "As long as he keeps trying to force his way into my mind, many things. Can I create something to manage that?". Well it seemed Liam was trying to figure a way to avoid his... tender ministrations. That was fine, that just made the plan to get Liam close to the Xenos a better idea. Valrin turned to Liam and ignored his question utterly. Once more the air around them froze to keep the sound from escaping to unneeded ears. "If you wish to create something to keep me out of your mind, I would suggest talking to the Xenos later. He has either a technology or an ability to shut himself off from the Warp. For obvious reasons, we must find a way to replicate said abilitiy. Your carrot is that if you can figure that out, I cant explore your mind. My carrot is that with that ability, we can utterly turn ourselves invisible to the Warp, and possibly banish Daemons back instantly. Of course we cannot tell anyone...

    Super Robot Wars: Calamitous Dawn

Ah a "debriefing", which of course as always meant it was time for the old formula: time to stonewall any attempt for information, essure them the threat has been dealt with, then just stare into their souls until they get the hint and go away. Inquisitor Haldentum had always driven that idea of what to do if captured, but I had found it honestly more useful dealing with the bureaucracy of the Ministration. Valrin walked between the guards, taking point to wherever they were leading him, no words need be wasted.
