It really is... Sakura could have been fixed if the majority of Part 2 was just allowing her to be a more pivotal character in the story and yes, Kishimoto could have absolutely done so while still keeping pages for his boytoy Sasuke... but he didn't. Sakura ended up losing all of her relevancy after Sasori and just became the cheerleader for Naruto meanwhile doing some things to pretend she's still relevant while she isn't. Have her try and save Naruto against Pain or fight alongside him, actually take part in the War as a fighter and a medic at once, hell, have her fight for her non-existent ass parents instead of Sasuke for ONCE. Like @Adamant soul can say that Orihime is on a similar level to Sakura but honest to god, I call that a fucking insult to Orihime and that's really goddamned funny considering there is some level of a point there... till you realize atleast Orihime still mattered in Heuco Muendo, mattered in the Soul Society Arc and actually helped fight alongside...

Honestly, it was that which turned me off of Kishimoto entirely. For all of Kubo's issues and problems, I think people are correct but end up way too harsh on the guy. Oda really needs to take a break and end One Piece already but I respect his drive despite never really getting into it even now. Even Horikoshi and Gege have great concepts but just stopped caring after awhile and never really gave it the true push they needed. Kishimoto though? Like I think what ultimately made me realize just how worthless of a character Sakura is... is actually not where you think it is but at the tail end of the series where Sakura pours her heart out to Sasuke to get him to stop his goals of being a "Shadow Ruler" and Sasuke just goes "Why the hell do you love me?" and it's KAKASHI that explains it and not Sakura herself. Remember for all of the bullshit you can give to Orihime or Hinata or even Temari, we can see full well or given an explanation from the character why they love who they ultimately do. Hell, we even get that with Renji of all people when it came to him and Rukia tying the knot since like the Soul Society. Yet we are never given a single solitary reason why Sakura loves Sasuke, not one. Right then and there did I realize that Sakura was fucking worthless, she could easily be replaced with an NPC and nothing would change, even for Boruto because that's how little of a fuck Kishimoto gave for her. Like Sakura's hugest sins is the fact that Kishimoto not only had no idea of how to write female characters, but the fact he then didn't even try to make Sakura a compelling character at all even in comparison to his side characters who has far less screentime and less chances to matter to the plot. Every single bit of Sakura's character hinges on Sasuke to an absolutely unreal degree for the screentime she has but nothing is done to really make her matter in the grand scheme of things and this is before we get to the fact that her negative qualities are far more frustrating to deal with than Naruto or Sasuke's precisely because of how little she ever learns from them punctuating with her MARRYING Sasuke and still ultimately living a miserable life, no matter how hard Kishi tries to dress it up.

It doesn't help that like with alot of tellings of Greek Myths and other religions, people either take Ovid as canon or primarily take pieces from Ovid to use for themselves(In the same fashion that Lilith's story tend to be used now even in Christian-like series despite her being from Judaism). It further gets muddied that even without Ovid, there IS a story that Medusa is Human from the Greek perspective... but she wasn't raped by Poseidon and actually invited him into Athena's Temple so they can do the nasty which got her and her sisters cursed. There's also the fact that there is ANOTHER story in which Medusa and her sisters was just shits who basically danced and fucked around in Athena's Temple which also got them cursed.
