Azure Striker Gunvolt also know as Armed Blue Gunvolt is a 2-D slide scrolling action platform game developed and published by Inti Creates. The game have 2 sequel and a spin off saga Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX.

The story center is the conflict between humans and Adepts a type of meta humans with have the super natural power know as Septima, and how the world change after the arrival of the adepts, Gunvolt an Adept capable to control electricity with the help of QUILL try to stop the plans of the Sumeragi Group a world wide corporation who take advantage of the current world situation and behind the shadows makes human experiments and try to control all the adepts of the planet.

Septimal Powers, also know as sevens or the septimal wave are the super powers of the Adepts in ASGV. With them the Adepts are capable to do super humans feats, control elements, manipulate the live, mind or soul of the objetive, etc.

7th Wave (Sevens)
This is the generic name for the ESP phenomenon that began appearing within humanity some decades ago.
It typically expresses itself in boys and girls under 10 years of age. Since it’s a special ability that only those with a special 7th wave-form could use, as established by the wave research at the time, it was named 7th Wave (Sevens).
Because many Psychics exhibited this 7th Wave as energy (such as heat or light), the Sumeragi Group (GV’s foe) was the first to set eyes on it. They conducted research in hopes of creating a new source of energy from it.

There’s a very influential theory which states that the 7th Wave, through an unknown bodily strength, controls and changes pair annihilation in the body to create massive energy. However, since most of that manifestation mechanism is unknown, there are several scientists that have doubts or misgivings about whether it can be used as an energy source.

The first 7th Wave Psychics were naturally born humans. However, the Sumeragi Group's research has succeeded in cultivating 7th Wave Inducers. It’s starting to become possible to artificially create 7th Wave Psychics.
Humans and animals that have 7th Wave potential are the test subjects, also called “matches”. The Abilities bloom in them by transplanting the 7th Wave Inducers into their bodies, but it’s very hard to find a successful match. Gunvolt and Cyan are some of the few Sumeragi-created subsequent 7th Wave Psychics.

Also in the web novel side story Azure Striker Gunvolt Fleeting Memories, is explained the difference stage of life force and how in more higher stage the living organism development super powers and other abilities.

The Lifewave, it is the force of nature which connects all living things in this world. Extensive research has been conducted on the Lifewave for many generations, and it is currently known that up to six different stages of the Lifewave exist, from the Primordial (1st) stage to the Senary (6th) stage. Depending on which stage of the Lifewave living beings are attached to when they are born, they are granted varying levels of cognitive and physical capabilities.

Your average human being or animal will be born attached to the 1st to the 3rd stage of the Livewave, but there are indeed many exceptions to this.

Mystics, soothsayers, psychics; all of the people who possess these kinds of supernatural powers are almost always born attached to the Tetrad (4th) stage of the Lifewave. The most powerful people among this group of supernaturals are sometimes born attached to the Quinary (5th) wave, but these are quite rare. When someone is born attached to the Senary (6th) wave, however, it is considered nothing short of a miracle, and these people and animals are viewed by society as being sacred; no different from a holy person.

The Senary wave was long thought to be the pinnacle of the Lifewave, but unforeseen events have begun to challenge and place doubt on this long held perception about the Lifewave.

In contrast all the super humans from the 4th stage to 6th stage are inferior in comparation with the Adepts the person who have the 7th live wave or Septimal, capable to bends the laws of the physic, manipulate elements and other super humans feats.

In recent years, children have been born who possessed abilities that surpassed even those who were born attached to the Senary wave. Naturally, these children have been cast into the spotlight as this new ripple in the Lifewave was being noticed for the first time. These children were able to control, manipulate, and produce flames from their bare hands, run at blinding speeds; truly bend the laws of physics, nature, and gravity. The people possessing these amazing powers had no harbinger to announce that children all over the world now possess abilities that put those who were once regarded as holy people to shame; they were just simply popping up here and there. This group of people would eventually be referred to as “adepts”.

It was determined that these people simply could not have been born on the Senary wave, and was thus determined that these adepts were part of an uncharted territory of the Lifewave; a new apex which would become known as the Septimal (7th) wave.

Also in some degree all the most powerfuls Adepts are capable to manipulate things in atomic, quantum level also interact or affect the souls, spirits and ghost, maybe because Septima are Soul given form and the highest form of manipulating the lifewaves.

For example Lumen the Septima of Joule was part of her heart and soul, in a literal form because when she lost his body only his soul remain in form of Lumen her Septima.

She originally was supposed to become a personality submissive to Sumeragi but, maybe due to influence from the darkness in Elise’s heart, she manifested herself as a violent personality. She went berserk and turned many of the researchers into zombies.
(The 7th Wave <Sevens> is greatly influenced by the user’s mental state as well, so it’s very hard to perform brainwashing on the user when the 7th Wave <Sevens> is on a rampage or when the user’s personality hasn’t been erased)

It was the first time someone had been kind to them ever since the orphanage had closed down so the two of them rejoiced. Azure Striker/Armed Blue was the first Septima power discovered in South America, the Adepts with this Septima could control electricity, attack with lightnings, increase physicals abilities, hacking and control over the electronics, and electrons particles.



All Azure Striker Adepts have a higher level of resistance to the electricity based attacks, for example Gunvolt in the early game didn't have damaged when him was attacked with a whip filled with high tension electricity.

Azure Thunderclap (Armed Blue):
This was the first 7th Wave to be discovered in the world.
It’s the generic name for the electrical discharge ability that works via fine control over electrons.
Apart from its straightforward attack ability, the Azure Thunderclap (Armed Blue) can significantly increase bodily abilities by turning a Psychic’s biological current active. It’s capable of covering the body’s surface with a thin EM field film (shield) which protects one from all types of attacks: this film acts as a barrier, the “Thunder Scales”. It also allows controlling (hacking) of electrical devices from the outside. They say that it hides power which can be used in all kinds of situations

Thanks to the power of the Azure Striker, the adept have several forms of using this power, one of that is the Prevasion.

Prevasion is the ability of turning intangible manipulating the electrons particles in cost of him EP gauge(GV don't have this weakness in the 3rd game or when Lumen/Joule boost him), when GV loss all of his EP gauge him going Overheat and can't Prevasion the attacks of his enemies and can't use the Spark Shield.

Flashfield is another ability of Azure Striker adepts, they can surround themselves with an electric field/sphere and deal pasive damage to near opponents, also taged enemies can't evade the attacks of the flash shield, in contrast the user can't prevade when the Flashfield is active.

AB Spirits:
They’re the soul of GV’s mentor who also was the other Azure Thunderclap (Armed Blue), and which spread to several places.
By taking in the “AB Spirits”, GV’s 7th Wave (Sevens) degenerates and awakens new skills such as “Thunder Dragon Sphere” and “Roaring Thunder Fall”.

This Maybe is because Adept powers are soul based and they origins is the highest level of the life wave of a person.

Azure Striker Gunvolt Fleeting Memories Feats:
A child Asimov nuke with a lightning an entire investigation center of Sumeragi.

Immediately after they began their experiment, a horrific accident occurred, and the Sumeragi Futures Institute of Technology was completely burned to the ground. There were no survivors. All of the machinery was completely destroyed.

After an investigation, they could only guess that the incident was caused by human experimentation gone bad, and that a test subject’s Septimal powers went out of control.

The truth was that the boy being subject to the experiments possesses a Septimal power known as the “Azure Striker”. The moment the experiments began, he let loose a massive blast of lightning, and the entire facility was eradicated in an instant. All of the staff participating in Takefutsu…there was not a single one of them who was spared from the massive electrical blast.

However, not even a single record of this can be found in Sumeragi’s official records.

After Kamizono’s death, all of the materials he created that explain the extreme dangers of the Septimal wave were falsified and altered by Sumeragi in their sweeping efforts to cover up the S-FIT disaster. His legacy would be forever tarnished by Sumeragi…

Some Adepts Septima powers.

Jota:
His Septima is Lightspeed/Afterglow, with this Septima Jota is capable to manipulate photons and move at light speed(or even faster).

Afterglow (Light-speed):
It’s Jota's 7th Wave (Sevens).
An ability that, apart from controlling photons to some extent, allows him to change his flesh into photons and carry out (literally) light-speed movements.
After transforming with the “Sword”, he can change photons into energy through the Photon Bit equipped on his back to form either beam attacks or a light-blade.
However, whenever he transforms himself into photons during his light-speed movements, he becomes unable to carry out thinking. This means that he can only move to spots that he’s decided beforehand. He can’t move and attack at the same time either, which is another defect.

The level of Jota photon manipulation is so high at point of him can manipulate things on quantum level and altering the quantum mechanics to tear the space and erase things of existence as turning the light in that spot to "Zero" with him Zero Blade.

Demise Light-blade (Zero Blade):
It’s Jota's Special Skill.
It’s a powerful attack based on altering a quantum mechanical idea to his needs. This particular idea suggests that only what we observe through our naked eyes actually exists, and it acknowledges that “light” is what’s shaping the world. Iota controls that “light” which shapes the world and, by turning it into zero, he can tear the world/space itself.

The attack releases an enormous amount of energy so, apart from properly aiming it is hard, Iota momentarily ends up in a fuel-lacking state after using it.
That’s why, after charging in right after shooting the Zero Blade and, unlike when he uses the Flash Stinger, the beam blades don’t form and his displacement speed is slower than the usual.

Gibril:
Her Septima is Metallica/Metallon with this septima power she can manipulate the metal in different ways and the life force of living beings, like control objects made with iron/metal, iron in the blood at point to can alter the body of the victim, transmute liquids into weapons, Iron Maidens, blades, axes, etc. Also boost her stats using her own life force at cost.

Metallica:
It’s a 7th Wave (Sevens) that can control metals.
It’s normally controlled in the form of a red liquid, but, when the need arises, she can change the liquid into metals.
As a result of Gibril’s hobbies, she often turns the liquids into torture utensils but that might be flip over of her masochism for all we know.
By controlling the iron in the bloodstream, she’s able to exert influence on living beings yet, when using it against others, it’s not at what one would call “practical level”: she mainly uses it during her “Beast Modes” to strengthen herself.

She also have different modes, The Alchemist Mode, the Beast Mode and the Crisis Mode.

Mode Changing:
The transformed Gibril uses tech copied from Sumeragi as basis to switch between the “A (Alchemist) Mode” which can remotely control metals, and the “B (Beast) Mode” which can dedicate all energy to strengthening herself.
When she’s in the A Mode, she can harden the metallic armor covering her body and gains the most powerful defensive ability of all of the G7. In the B mode, that changes, as she dedicates all energy used for hardening to speed and attacking strength: she carries out hi-speed battling so fast that the eyes can’t keep track of.
As a further ace-in-the-hole, she uses her own life-energy as nourishment and releases all of her power into a form gone berserk, the “C (Crisis Beast) Mode”, but when she turns into that form that’s the end for her since she can’t cancel it until she dies.

An in certain degree she can alter the biology of livings beings and control the remodeled humans know as Masked Zombies.

Masked Zombies:
They’re remodeled humans placed in the manor that Gibril occupied, remants of humans who had their life-energy sucked out of them.
There’s a Sumeragi technology that uses the life energy extracted from others to strengthen the 7th Wave – and these soulless lumps are born as a byproduct of such experiments: they’ve been adjusted so that Gibril can control them with her Metallica Ability
