the idw 2005 run is really good, personally probably my favorite transformers continuity and my favorite comics in general
there are parts of it that suck like with any long running comic (Mike Costa's 30 chapter ongoing is almost entirely bad), but the bulk of it's fun and brutal. The Wreckers arcs are just amazing by any standard, probably the best Transformers stories ever, and MTMTE and RiD are both great too. Also they have a Transformers vs Rom miniseries prequel that was incredibly sick as part of it.


If you want something shorter and crazier, Tom Scioli's Transformers vs GI Joe is amazing. It's deliberately overly fast paced and kinda goofy, but the heavily Kirby inspired art has a ton of charm and it's one of the only attempts at reinventing Transformers we've gotten in a long time. I recommend it to everyone.
 
I have to say though, despite james roberts being one of my fav writers, Lost Light is mostly not very good. I know it was rushed compared to MTMTE, but the direction he took several plot threads in he'd built up was just so fucking bad.

He can also be a bit corny at times but he managed to give us two of the scariest villains in transformers so I forgive any weirdness

Not yet. I took a break during the issue where they show flashbacks of Rom's time as a Space Knight during the war with the Dire Wraiths. Somewhere around #10. I'm going to get back into the swing once I finish up Ragnarok and take a break for a month so we can recouperate.

At'least what Maddie posts, as much as we disagree, actually exists and can be quantified, unlike wherever the fuck he got TLT shutting the gauntlet off from.
