Circus of Humorous & Humiliating Arguments Part 3: Laugh Hard with a Vengence

Yeah it's almost like the planet in FF7 is fuck off strong on top of the fact that Sephiroth doesn't even use Supernova UNTIL HE'S ABSORBED A GOOD CHUNK OF THE LIFESTREAM ALREADY.

Like come on.
Essentially the old "breaks the setting/renders the story moot argument" which is an incredibly half-assed argument at the best of times, but even more hilarious in situations like FFVII where they miss the point entirely.

Sephiroth's plan was to WOUND the planet, Supernova (which was already a move he had as far back as Crisis Core) would have DESTROYED the planet. Which is why he needed the Black Materia, to use an attack powerful enough to wound, but not kill the planet essentially.

The planet (which was able to stop METEOR) was held back from interfering specifically by Sephiroth. Now remind me, who defeated Sephiroth again? Yet these assholes are acting like METEOR is above the party who beat the guy who held back the planet from stopping METEOR in the first place.

Next they'll try and say Vegnagun being Sin level "breaks the story" of that game. It doesn't, it just creates a power creep that has the goofy ass Leblanc syndicate not dying instantly against a Sin level opponent. :kobeha

Wasn't it also because Sephiroth can't really bring the entire damn planet into the Supernova dimension or am I mistaken?

I'm sorry, I have to go back on the Summoning crap again:
The truly funny part is that in most FF games, you literally fight the summons, like literally fight them at full strength and Bahamut is the main one you constantly have to fight in some shape or form which is usually canon at the end of the day that they have his power at their beck and call.

Final Fantasy III explicitly has you meet Bahamut twice, you survive the first time and defeat him the next.
Final Fantasy IV is the same deal with both Bahamut AND Asura(which Brave Exvius implies she's as big a deal as Bahamut is)
Final Fantasy V carries on that tradition as does VI
Even Final Fantasy VIII literally has you fight Bahamut and he Mega Flares your ass.
And IX... again...

Kuja literally gets hit by a Mega Flare dead on and congratulates the beast... ON WOUNDING HIM AT ALL!
But nah, that was PIS, the explosions missed him... despite the cutscene showing it hit Kuja and the Silver Dragon dead on and the party defeats the Silver Dragon AND explicitly forces Kuja to exhaustion which is the main reason he was able to Trance at all in the first official battle they had(As he still needed to be brought to the brink to do so)
And oh yeah, guess what happened there?

It's hilarious easy to use FFIX as a whole to completely discredit the "Summons are just gameplay" line as the whole series never went with that in the first place and you usually had to fight them at full strength to have them help you at all... and the villains are still so damn powerful, they can destroy entire Planets and then some.

EDIT: And the truly insane part of that last part?
It's all but stated Zidane actually stacks completely to Trance Kuja... when he fully matures and some players actually believe Trance Zidane's Grand Lethal is just another version of Trance Kuja's Ultima :skully

Don't see why he WOULDN'T be able to, given the Supernova dimension is much bigger than the actual planet.

It's just obviously not an attack he can manipulate the power of like a DBZ character, it does what it does FULL STOP and was too powerful to be used for what he had in mind.

Let's not forget what happens in the Remake when you fight Sephiroth for real and that scene wasn't an illusion either but the insane level of power Sephiroth is capable of, including re-summoning Meteor.

Also again for another FFIX showing:

Yeah, Garnet has this... people need to remember this(Let's not forget Alexander... or Madeen either LMFAO, seriously, fuck the preconceived shit man, it's not hard to fathom that Final Fantasy as a series is filled with such bullshit and the characters emphatically stack to it all).

Dissidia in general even shows the protagonists and antagonists of all the FF games being around the same level.

Here we have both Garland and Sephiroth taking on SAVIOUR Light.

7:49 Same Light who beat Bhunivelze, whom even if we were to ignore the fact that he created (and was going to destroy) an entire new universe, did THIS shit on-screen.

Final Fantasy is not some chump series of barely superhuman characters no matter how much they want to pretend otherwise.

Building level Sephy. Of course..

Remind me, don't Knights of the Round straight up destroy their own dimension that has stars and galaxies in it?
And doesn't Sephiroth also scale above them (iirc)? :mjlol

that thread has a guy saying idw megatron would clear Frieza :wow

the same one that had half of his body instantly obliterated by a planet razing weapon and would've died to his own antimatter

the IDW wank gotta stop man, it's everything wrong with powerscaling. Good ass comics but it's a select few heavy hitters in them

@Adamant soul One of the most hilarious things is looking at Dissidia Opera Omnia and seeing as they still make Beatrix a monster by fighting and defeating Seifer, Tidus, Firion and Vaan one after the other in her Side Story...

The crazy part is that Opera Omnia explicitly plucked everyone out Post-Game(Which includes the Villains after their defeat and Vivi after his death) which truly shows how absurd she is... and so is Steiner considering he canonically defeated her once(Though this was before she got stronger and Steiner sees it as a fluke) even more funny.

That's 'cause Beatrix was awesome.

Still one of the few characters to NEVER take an L to the party of her game. :maybe
by fighting and defeating Seifer,
The guy who casually cut Odin in half and took Gilgamesh to defeat let's not forget
Who defeats Jecht (who still has his Final Aeon powers) SOLO in Dissidia.
Firion and Vaan one after the other in her Side Story...
Bare in mind Vaan defeated Gilgamesh in his game. :maybe

Like it's not like Square downplays these characters or ever makes them look weak, they make EVERY effort to show how OP they are on a regular basis.

But still you get people who act like Advent Children was some out of nowhere shit in terms of how strong the characters are. :kobeha

I know, it's just hilarious as hell to me that Beatrix actually got those gains as well in Opera Omnia of all things, especially with the fact that this is explicitly Post-Game Characters that was either revived or was transported to this world after their Adventures completely.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMFG, They imply in Opera Omnia that Hope has a more powerful form hidden...
It's FUCKING BHUNIVELZE!!!

Holy shit game, fucking stop!
It's hilarious to me, being a Hope fan, that he's unironically one of the strongest characters in XIII by the end simply because Bhunivelze chose to make him his vessel. :mjpls

Never mind shit like Vanille being able to wipe out the souls of everyone who has ever died using the Soulsong (GG Bleach/Shaman King/A lot of verses where most of the cast are dead). :kobeha

And now Opera Omnia is saying that because of that connection, Hope can literally BECOME Bhunivelze and/or use his powers and take on his form... sweet fuck boy, calm your ass down.

And yeah, this is including Vanille and the Soul Song shit too.

:/

I mean... :mjpls
