I liked Aoko's character design, but everything felt stale compared to things like Orignal Fate (All route). I enjoyed Apocrypha more than Witch, which is saying something since I dislike Seig most among all Type-Moon characters.
 
Funny how no one brought up characters like Kumoku, Rou, Rimuru, Kang, or Re:do healer's mc since some of these characters make Ainz look like a saint in comparison. It's like Ainz is a punching bag from the Isekai community when there are characters who have done worse than him.
 

The issue isn't that there are characters whose done more horrible shit than Ainz, it's that they still do that horrible shit while having conflict of various levels. The issue with Ainz is that even if you go with the explanations in the LN, it just paints Momonga as a sociopathic idiot who just bumbles his way into being an Overlord because his NPCs believe he's the greatest thing in their area.

Ainz is boring because there's no true conflict in terms of his inner self nor is it from external degrees. Even when he becomes "good" in the Side Story, he's still a piece of shit who will gladly kill or inflict horrific injuries and fates onto others without a care.
The entire series is basically "Watch the OP MC tear everyone a new asshole" but it doesn't even make their losses showy in the slightest.
 
I mean rimuru is not as bad as ainz. He only massacred thousands of peope after they killed his people. Aside from diablo his followers don't get as depraved as ainzs. At least redo healer has the excuse of revenge for his actions.
 
Ainz literally agreed to a plan to invite people to raid his tomb to have them die horrible, horrible deaths just to raise awareness of his guild and has the nerve to throw a temper tantrum at the last surviving group of victims trying desperately to use his former guild mates as a way to bargain out of the situation he put them in to begin with, having one of them killed to “spare” them, said girl just trying to get money to feed her siblings while subjecting the rest to beyond inhumane torture for such a minor transgression.

Weakest I can think of would be Xerneas from Pokemon but...not really weak. It is the direct counterpart of Yveltal,who can lifewipe an area from a country all the way to a planet,so yeah.

Rimuru? The closest thing he does to evil is wipe out an invading army that murdered a bunch of his civilians. And in contrast to Ainz his general passivity overrules his minions aggression instead of the other way around. The four primordial demons who work for him all force themselves to play nice because they think Rimuru is the reincarnation of their god or some shit.

It's funny to me as well to hear that Keyaru(Redo of Healer) is worse than Ainz considering the fact that while he does include innocents, it's not something he always does and more focus on specific targets.
Dude was broken after being drugged, raped(By both sides) and traumatized by the methods of how they abused his healing for years. "But he's no different than they are" No. Fucking. Shit! The literal key difference is that he still has a soul and legit hates on some level what he has become and there are a few people(before they die) who can bring his better side back.
He's a victim that has become as terrible as his abusers and that's the entire point of the story.

But even he didn't kill 100,000 people just to see if a spell works and then ordered everyone to clap. He didn't basically act like a goody two shoes, ordered people to go to somewhere he didn't want them to just to die horrific deaths to test shit. Yeah, he's garbage but he's not Ainz.
 
Redo of Healer is the manga equivalent of cock fighting

The MC is a complete bastard who tortures, rapes, and kills to satisfy his desires.....but the targets of those desires are also almost universally bastards. The reader gets the catharsis of shitty stuff happening to shitty people without any of the complicating factors like "morals"

It's just also a comedically fetishitic sexual fantasy at the same time, which kinda ruins a lot of the effect since one of the things that fucked up the MC was being a sex slave for years. You'd think he'd have some kind of trauma from that.

I do agree with the latter part though but to be frank, I think he's legit broken and just doesn't give a fuck anymore outside of only targeting those who deserve it(Only killing innocents once and that was due to a situation that absolutely required it) and ultimately still having some level of his original self there, just buried under absolute rage and malice.

But like I said, it's basically Edgelord: The Series but as I said before and again, Keyaru is better than Ainz unironically and that's saying something.

Won't deny that. The spin-off not focusing on him or the main cast like Trinity, and Clayman's revenge >>>> Main Story. I like Rudra and Guy more than him, even when we were not told much about him since by Tenma War, Michael had taken over. The entire discord shits on rimuru, while Reddit simps for him. It's funny.

Yes, the Harvest Festival matter was something that the King was responsible for (Although, his reasoning for invading Tempest was sensible since Tempest's Existence would bring a major economic crisis in Falmouth.) Then we have Diablo, who was responsible for Falmuth Coup, which witnessed the wipe of most major Nobel families, every last member. Or are we forgetting his willingness to wipe out the entire Eastern Empire to get Castle Guard to shut down? (Eastern empire had like 500 million population, at minimum. At its highest it was touching billion.) Or the fact that Shion did this:





Yes, in comparison to Overlord, Slime is relatively lighthearted but it has its own fucked up moments which rival Overlord. The amount of Blood Chloe's has on her hands makes most villains from anime look down in shame.

Besides, the Isekai discussions is honestly a breath of fresh air myself in comparison to basically going about the same ol' shit. Still sucks about The Neverraine being perma-banned for bullshit reasons though.
 
I dropped Overlord many times due to fucked up shit like this, until I just got used to it, in story. Happy Farm still gives me disgust (If you don't know, it is where Demiurge skins living humans so that their Skins->Scrolls. They are skinned repeatedly, healed, again skinned, sometimes the pain is amplified. Also, some Guardians see this as a sport and entertainment show. Even young ones are not spared.)

=> Its reason like this, when I see people defending Floor Guardian that I just get pissed off. Kumoku also has her moments, like eating a baby in WN. Despite how much people shit upon Rudeus, he is a saint in comparision to Monster Iskeai Big Three (Kumoku, Rimuru, and Ainz.) and their side cast.
