It was basically done due to seeing the FGOxJJK fanart of precisely this scenario:



The main issue with the FGOxJJK matchups is that they ALWAYS devolve into "How Sukuna would benefit from the Fate system" and the answer is almost always the same:
You either have to make it the fuck up the entire way of how hard Sukuna benefits or you have to point out that Ryomen Sukuna is a nobody in the Nasuverse(not even namedropped even in Heian-Kyo) or would have gotten rolled over by Raikou.

Mahito is even moreso put into the same category with people thinking that Mahito being able to touch souls would be a huge deal to the universe when:
1. Most characters can already affect souls because a simple enough magical energy can do thus.
2. The nature of how Mahito can affect souls is not enough to really fuck with anyone's body whose capable of using Magical Energy as there's a reason why Theia or Medea is remotely capable of that type of deal.

EDIT: Even more funny that it's really hard to downplay Arjuna when the games and OP of America is pretty clear where the main stands at not even trying:

Tell that to Medusa who primarily just drinks people's Souls through their blood... and tell that to one of her victims who damn near died because of it:

You can't even pretend it's VN only, we see her in DEEN and in HF as one of Medusa's victims and it's even played for a laugh in Hollow Atraxia as Medusa took a liking to her.

It's a consistent interaction in-universe that stuff that directly destroys or damages souls is extremely powerful. It's one of the boasting points of Zeus' lightning for example.

That's... not at all why Zeus' power is shown as powerful Siriel, holy shit. It's literally because that MG Zeus could legit kill the person so badly, that none of the other Olympians, including Demeter, would be able to bring anyone killed that way back. Something that is unbelievable BECAUSE Divine Spirits in the Age of The Gods COULD bring people back to life.

He's completely mixing it up without understanding the reasoning at all(or doing it purposefully).

Again, spiritual bodies are not the same thing as souls. Ghosts and Servants in spiritual form are functionally the same as JJK spirits in terms of mechanics.

No, they do not Siriel. Not even in the most basic level are Ghosts and Servants are functionally the same as Curses in JJK...

This is a case where both settings are nearly identical on this kind of thing, I don't see any reason why one wouldn't treat them the same.

I don't understand why Siriel is again hardcore lying about this, Servants and Cursed Spirits are fundamentally different at their core to the point it's hilarious he's laughing like this.
The easiest way to point to this is that Servants at their core is literal walking history made manifest vs. Cursed Spirits basically being born from the negative emotions of Humanity with the Disaster Curses being based on Humanities' worst fears. When Servants die, they go right back to the Throne of Heroes until their next summoning and any deeds they did can be recorded or not, Cursed Spirits when they die are just dead unless they are Disaster Curses which then they full reincarnate but completely lose everything they once was(meaning Jogo and Hanami will be completely different beings).
You have to stretch the shit out of it to even make them be similar.
