I mean, there's only so much Oda can draw before it gets practically impossible to really show off how huge something is due to diminishing returns. That's the case for Toriko and alot of anime and manga that try and depict enormous as shit giants.
Even Nakaba got hit by this alot when it came to 7DS as you get with the infamous.... 31 Feet Escanor due to Diane looking smaller than she should.
EDIT: Even Kubo fell into this trap with characters being far smaller than they should be or taller for the impact of a scene or the animators for Dragonball where characters also grow or shrink depending on the scene.

Which bled into other stuff as a simplified "if the attack explodes its not a real laser" which ignores that lasers can cause stuff to explode via superheating even if the laser itself isn't inherently explosive
I'm not sure where it comes from but I have seen people try and play favorites with it like with Genos' Laser but then ignore any other usages doing the exact same thing because "it's not realistic".

High-energy radiation does not inherently explode, but it can cause things to explode by superheating them or energizing their electron orbitals. A beam that disperses its energy in an explosion would not be a proper laser, but a beam that causes explosions when it interacts with things in its path can certainly be one.
Of course, determining if a laser is actually made up of photons through explosions is stupid in the end- there are other properties of electromagnetic waves which give more certain results.
