Cradle, by Will Wight: Discussion and Analysis

Might as well move this over here.

Has a great magic system based off martial arts, and is already decently powerful. The practitioners of it are known as sacred artists.

Basics include the following:

Madra is spiritual energy, or the stuff which souls are made from.

It is separated into vital auras which are different types of madra, and stored within a sort of "core" near a person's navel. Which they can increase the quantity, and quality of by cycling it. Through which they can channel it in four different ways.

Strikers:

People who can attack enemies from a distance with madra.

Forgers:

People who can create things out of a madra. Such as armor, or weapons.

Enforcers:

People who can reinforce themselves or others with madra. This is also heavily influenced by the type of vital aura they have.

Rulers:

Pretty much the best way to utilize madra. That allows them to manipulate vital auras, and create any myriad of effects that they want.

Remnants are what remains of a person's core when they die. They are basically their ghosts, and are usually absorbed by others to further their Cultivation Level.

Besides that, there are Cultivation Levels (because of course there is). Which determines the quality of madra they have. After they fulfill certain requirements for the next stage.

Foundation:

Literally babies.

Copper:

Still kinda babies but they are working on it. Blatantly superhuman.

Iron:

At which point their bodies begin to drastically change in order to accommodate their madra. Such as Wei Shi Lindon's Bloodforged Iron Body. Which also gave him a healing factor.

Jade:

Their sensory perception drastically changes, and they gain the ability to sense madra on a great scale.

Gold:

It is a change in your appearance which is dependent on whatever path you have taken. Often times referred to as a Goldsign. Separated into Lowgold, Highgold, and Truegold. Quality, and quantity of madra drastically increases. They take in a Remnant during this stage.

Underlord/Overlord/Archlord:

Get a soulspace near their core. Which they can use as a pocket dimension to store things. They can use soulfire to amplify just about anything. Body is reforged again but this time with soulfire.

Sage:

You start to be able to sense, and become aware of The Way. The Way being the force that governs all of reality. Aging stops in its entirety, and you become functionally immortal. Most importantly of all? You gain access to an Icon. An aspect of reality that allows you to influence it with your voice. Basically, it lets you command reality to do what you want.

Herald:

The right and left hand of Monarchs. They completely fuse with their Remnant, and drastically increase their power. However, they're not more powerful than Sages. And they're pretty much on the same level as a Sage. Just lacking an Icon of their own yet.

Monarch:

The undisputed highest Cultivation Level you can achieve on Cradle. At this point you can create alternate worlds, and whatnot. This stage is achieved by fulfilling the requirements for both Sage and Herald. Monarchs sometimes even have multiple Icons like Northstrider.

Now leaving the realm of Cradle, and venturing to the rest of the multiverse. There are these guys.

Abidan:

Undisputedly the most powerful people in the multiverse.

So far we have got Judges. These guys can draw directly on The Way. Just two Judges fighting each other can fracture an iteration of reality so badly that it can devour a sun. Of the Judges the most powerful are Adriel, and Ozriel. The Creator, and the Reaper respectively; who can create, or destroy a whole universe.

Bog-standard Judges are incapable of this but they can stitch together together fragments of realities to create new iterations. They can break iterations into pieces but only one of them can destroy them so thoroughly that no fragments remain.

The multiverse itself is pretty large consisting of thousands of alternate iterations of earth.

The Abidan had control over ten-thousand of them after Ozriel starting made changes to the Eledari Pact.

Beneath the Judges are the Titans. Who are separated into different ranks. They are basically around the same Cultivation Level as say a Monarch. At their lowest rank. So, basically Monarchs are only as powerful as the absolute lowest-ranking Abidan.

Vroshir:

The rivals of the Abidan. They are separated into generations rather than ranks, and have also conquered a sizable portion of the multiverse.

Fiends of Chaos:

The really, really bad things. Sources of corruption, that infest the iterations on the vine. Usually when an iteration is past whatever expiration date it has. The worlds they corrupt are so infested that even if a Judge destroys that particular reality their fragments could infect and infest other iterations. Which is why Ozriel usually deals with worlds like those. Most have been detained in the Asylum, and are now quarantined there. They are aligned with the Void rather than the Way.

Dreadgod is out, and things have gotten crazy.

Lindon has absorbed the power of one of the Dreadgods. The Silent King, and has replaced him as one of the Dreadgods. The power makes up for his lack of a herald status, and he is basically a Monarch now. He was able to fight off Akura Malice with a little bit of help from Yerin.

What's the "Tier-list" for the series thus far? Between notable characters.
Toppest tier so far are Judges and some of the big name Vroshir

Ozriel with his full power and gear is essentially the strongest Judge, and Daruman the Mad King is a few notches below

Way below that are Monarchs

Seshethkunaz was the strongest Monarch who got iced by an Abidan artifact that wasn’t all that impressive by Ozriel’s standards

all the Monarchs operate on the same ballpark though, doesn’t look like there are any super big gaps, just different specialties and experience

Dreadgod Lindon is in the general Monarch tier, but still isn’t quite as strong as them so far

Yeah, basically this. Though next book imagine that will change. Lindon will probably eclipse Monarchs by then. Since the Slumbering Wraith is OP as fuck, and is going to lead to a lot more power ups.
