Is the sheer excitement behind this match-up far exceeding that of Galactus vs Unicron? Does the fight animation go even more all-out than Marvel and Transformer's eater of worlds?

Galactus vs Unicron was the end of an era for Death Battle, it was their S10 finale, the last episode ever released under the Rooster Teeth brand, the most requested match-up of the show, and there was a good chance there for a bit that this was the note we end on.
I may just enjoy GvS3 more between the two and capping that trilogy makes it an iconic landmark episode in its own right, but if those are the only two episodes you have left remaining, then I'd argue Galactus vs Unicron feels slightly more appropriate as a Grand Finale for what it represents for Death Battle and the community.
They say dogs are man’s best friend, but I’d think twice before throwing a bone to these mythological mutts. What does that even mean? Greek legend versus Norse legend, they’re canines, you get it.…
Honest question, Am I missing something? Why is this mu such a popular choice for both characters? What even is the connection between Darth Maul and Byakuya??? Is it just that they have siblings and use sword-ish weapons? I'm not even hating on the match-up I'm just legitimately baffled

Yeah some MU's barely make any sense even on paper if their only connections are over something as nominal or trivial as color or vaguely using any weapons resembling a sword. And little else beyond that.
I see this shit happen a lot on r/DeathBattleMatchUps.
