Not that it helped; one of these fools was more than willing to keep insisting Saitama's gag is auto-winning, but this quote from ONE does pretty clearly articulate what the joke is actually supposed to be. You know, if you feel like banging your head against a rock too.

In an interview for Yamada Reiji's Young Sunday, ONE, series creator of One Punch Man, broke down his thought process for Saitama's creation. Starting with Saitama's crazy strength, ONE explains that he "wanted to differentiate the character from pre-existing characters" and "thought it might be interesting if 'the first chapter is like the final chapter'; have the protagonist be extremely strong from the very start — be at the maximum power level which could only be attained in the final chapter of usual manga."

You could show this to them and they'd still be deluded, because even what the author himself says about Saitama doesn't matter to these flaming retards unless it kinda, sorta, maybe coincides with their own dumbass opinion on this.

Even after I linked the quote, the person in the second and last image was still more than willing to hit me with another block of text repeating the "he's a parody" bit for the Nth time.

Just noticed the "some of us are just hopeful that mastered UI helps him [Goku] at least be at Boros' level" line.

So, I guess, you can somehow scale to a parody character's parody power. Wow. Just, wow.
