Death Battle Discussion

Basically he argued that since Nolan struggled escaping the planet due to its gravity and he can escape the escape velocity of stars and even a black hole, the planet must have a gravity in that range.

That ignores that a black hole like the one he escaped had a gravity of hundreds of billions to trillions of m/s^2 while stars peak at like 10,000 m/s^2, or that at a certain gravity planets collapse into brown dwarfs. Or that maybe that's just a fucking low end for Nolan because there's no non-degenerate celestial body in the universe that would give him an issue if he actually can stand the gravity of a black hole.

Yeah this is right up there with large planet level Obito and Hiei in terms of fumbling :skully

Up there? Nah lad, we've passed that, at this stage, and that's just wild.
So would you say it’s up there with early season classics?
-Pillar feats>everything else
-Limitless Superman because “he’s as strong as he needs to be”
-Ganondorf is invulnerable to anything except holy weapons

Pillar feats trumps all? It could be a contender, but Wank Xiao Long just barely edges it out, if I'm being completely honest, now I've had more time to think on it.(initially thought it worse.)

Limitless Superman? Nah, that shit will forever remain in its own class of dumb.

Ganondorf? Prob not.

Limitless Superman was vindicated by Infinite Frontier basically making Superman what GvS2 claimed he was

If DB has any sense, they'll keep Speedy out of the kitchen from now on, because dear god, everything is on fire, because of his stupidity. :kobeha
To clarify the implications, basically even I agree with the Lagrange Point that but it's partially decided by a planets mass, which he calculated based on the supposed gravity of the planet which leads to what I said

Basically it's a chain upon chain upon chain of assumptions and implications due to the authors not considering some idiot extrapolating everything to create the maximum high end. However if the planet really was as high gravity as he believed it was, it wouldn't be a planet it at best would be a brown dwarf, possibly a neutron star.

technically he isn't wrong, but if you're coming to those conclusions you need to get off your chair, get out of your room, touch some grass. And repeat this

"I'm making Omniman borderline supernova level based on a ship he scales to destroying a disk which must be at the Lagrange point which I can calculate based on its mass and I can get these other gravity feats to suggest the planet is denser than a fucking brown dwarf to get a large enough distance that when I then pixel scale the disk it's almost the size of the Sun so that allows it to have a certain mass which then taking a timeframe of 0.25 seconds because it takes that long for a person to say no I can get a velocity of 0.945c and now Omni-Man is a Cell Saga level character."

and anybody with a brain is gonna look at that and just say “but he couldn’t bust that one planet on his own”
And they are. Speedy's only response is there're other star level feats in Invincible that Omni-Man can scale to, but is there? If that were the case, I would've thought that they'd mention that, instead of wanking the sun disk and under-selling him being unable to destroy Viltrum on his own, and needing the help of two others, plus the Infinity Ray beforehand, which did most of the damn work for them, lol. :mjlol

Even if what you say is true, this happens way the fuck after the death battle itself, in 2015, so it's of zero relevance to when the episode first arrived.:wow

Okay as my official first-time post in this particular mega-thread (since I am a regular Death Battle fan myself):

I just finished watching Omniman vs Bardock on my uncle’s former IPhone 8 Plus past midnight. And I have to say for starters, the fight animation itself was nothing short of fairly amazing, with the 3D models and environment seeming so pretty well-crafted and the fight itself was kinda intense.

Ngl, even though I was rooting for Omniman all this time (because I follow and enjoy Invincible more than Dragon Ball as a show), I was kinda extremely astonished, surprised, and shocked that Death Battle had Nolan take home the W when I was really expecting an inevitable L for him.

Now just to be pretty clear, as much as I still think Dragon Ball is overrated in powerscaling (and in general as a franchise too) and typically tend to feel more inclined to root against the series’s characters in virtually all their Death Battle episodes and online cross-fictional debates, by and large…

I do kinda actually agree with almost everyone here that the outcome was just kinda completely wrong and their post-analysis was clearly dishonest enough to contradict themselves (Omniman needing the combined strength of at least 2 other Viltrumites to destroy a planet while King Vegeta easily destroyed 3 planets with a gesture then saying omniman is “ackshully stronger hurr durr”) and outright wank a character higher than he actually is based on one supposed feat being taken wildly out of context (Solar Disc).

Tl;dr: I think based on actual feats/scaling, the results/verdict were pretty cap and as much as I like Nolan, this should have been the most winnable MU for any DB character and Bardock should have easily won by outstatting Nolan alone with ranged attacks in hindsight.

Also in addition, I can’t believe I’m actually saying this but Bardock vs Omniman just might be the first DB episode where I legitimately feel all kinds of bad and sorry for a Dragon Ball character losing on the show and for all loyal fans of the franchise having to endure watching all this.

My sincerest condolences dudes.

With how things are going, I won't be shocked if within the next few months, Ben basically says that they don't consider the episode accurate, and admits they botched the sun disk stuff, at the very least, because holy Gods above, once you get into the nitty gritty of it, like Maddie did, their numbers for it just fall apart horrendously. :kobeha

Yeah I mean I highly dislike Dragon Ball wanking in powerscaling as much as the next guy, but I honestly think Death Battle actually went a bit too far off the deep end with their bias against the franchise here with this one.

I just couldn’t help but feel so bloody depressed for Bardock and all Dragon Ball fans expecting a win for their series here after a string of so many recent losses.

So it gets better

Know how I said Speedy mentioned Omni-Man could escape black holes?

Yeah, wasn't in the comic, was cartoon only:

So can't even use that to scale to the planet.

theres is none outside that omnipotus nigga who the g1 blog mentioned the issues about there is no other star level feats in invincible :whathekong

There's nothing even close in the comics unless you use that crossover with Supreme

Maddie's revised sun disk result isn't even that far off the original comic run's best feats even
