jojolion is great although i don't know if i could say that i liked every decision he made at the end lmao. but i don't think i've fully enjoyed most of the endings he's done. regardless i think it's the most interesting part by farJoJoLion was weird as fuck and by far Araki's strangest work. I read it for 10 years straight and was wrong about every single prediction I made. It is definitely the least consistent of any of the parts, but it sort of makes up for it because the highs are really out there. Chapter 99 in particular is the weirdest thing he's ever written, which is saying a lot.
He'll always be my favorite creator so I'm looking forward to Part 9 and curious if he's gonna address any of the weirdness he seemingly deliberately left unexplained from 8 or, in typical Araki fashion, he'll just move onto whatever else is cool to him at the time.
Oh I definitely don't like everything he decided to do with it hence me saying it's the most inconsistent part by far. There are a lot of points where it's just harder than ever to try and understand what his thought process was. The last two chapters are a kind of hilarious troll though after everything that happened.part 8

i thought the last arc was going very well up until jobin's death, and then the direction araki took it was just confusing. there are still some really good bits after that but introducing the main antagonist that late into the story (someone who had never even been mentioned before, aside from the vague hint that the rock humans probably have a leader), and then centering everything around him and prioritizing him over other plot threads that were established in the first half was just. kinda bad tbh. and this isn't even going into how off the wall wonder of u and go beyond are, and side characters that were underused and/or killed off (kaato, kei, karera).
it's weird
Jobin was clearly built up as Gappy's opposite on every level, from the intro where they use the teddy bear/toy robot symbolism to the end with the fruit. I thought for sure he was going to eat a fruit and become the real main villain, particularly because there were and still are so many loose threads hanging. And not just typical Araki has moved on, I mean actual plot points he seemingly intentionally left unresolved? For example in the flashback, Karera has met Kira and Josefumi for the first time. But in the previous arc we are shown a photograph of them all hanging together somewhere, and Josefumi's eyes are different there. So the implication is this must have happened after the fruit was eaten.
Yagiyama also claimed he was the one who smashed Kira between rocks and killed him, leading to the beginning of JJL as we know it. Which didn't happen at all in the flashbacn arc. So either there's a chunk of time deliberately not accounted for, or this is the biggest retcon ever done in the manga.
It's too weird and thought out to be just an oversight or running change to me though. And there's still the matter of the guy Gappy saw in his memories who just never fucking shows up ever.
Plus Dolemite and his blue lagoon plotline that went nowhere and he's still alive apparently?
Tooru in general was handled very oddly at best and poorly at worst. The late intro coupled with him and Gappy not really coming into any real personal conflict was so odd compared to past villains. We know he deliberately messed with Rai and Yasuho's lives but it's not clear why. In fact nothing about the Rock Humans' goals is really ever explained. We never know how the new fruit is going to change the world to favor silicon life like Urban Guerilla claimed it would.
There's a lot more I could go on about, it's jusyt an insanely strange series of writing choices even for Araki. I've long felt he was sort of playing with our expectations of what JoJo is since early chapters, and it's hard not to still feel that way with how it wrapped up.
and to top it all off, flashback guy is never addressed again
