What Ekko is advocating for, I think, is to expand the definition of ranked. But I really don't see why that's necessary or who the fuck actually cares besides him lol

I get where Poyser and Grammaton are coming from on one angle with how their community prefers things and where Aries, Sigismund, and Ekko are on the other one with how we did things on NF.

I think everyone has agreed except ironically Ekko that we can split basically section in two so the queues can still be maintained without it being clogged.

It's silly because the benefit of an unranked game is that you can do whatever the fuck you want and probably also cut the line in the queue.

The problem with unranked games is people don't want to play a game where the contributions will not matter in the end. A unranked game can be just as balanced as a ranked game. who gives a shit if you can cut in line if ain't no one willing to give your game a fair chance because of the "unranked" asterisk next to it. It's best to just separate the Mafia game types. From vanilla to low end role madness types to high end role madness/SRM games types.

SRM games or experimental games should not be ranked / can have its own list. on that we agree

i think u only happened to draw the SRM or short end of the stick in the games u play in WG. like chess mafia is an anomaly and is considered bastard in its own way. that cant be ranked obviously and im not saying it should lol

if u have a chance to take a look at the danganropa or ToG setups in NF i think those should definitely be ranked material. thats what i was referring to. im on phone now but can provide links

light and semi vanilla games typically shud be okay to run as ranked.

we just want the go to be able to run these as such and expect them to be treated competitively. it doesnt have to be played with ws players. we arent going to be begging for players or forcing them to play what they dont want. we just want to be able to host ranked games that arent strictly ws format and they will be balanced throughly and reviewed

one major suggestion i can see is the roles in ranked need to be more clear. as in just explain the abilities straight forward in simple mafia terms.

example, use:

2x roleblocker - target a player and roleblock them at night.


instead of

[active - giga chad] - you are giga chad whose grandfather died in world war 69 fighting alongside jackie chan so you devleoped this ability to target a player and prevent them from carrying out any night action. [2-shots]

More NF players have wanted to branch out here to play as well. But you know how people are, a lot of players will want to stick with what their used too. I think having multiple games in the RM/SRM section and the vanilla/classic section ongoing will have spectators from both ends of the communities checking out the other one and more cross-interest, increasing activity.

unranked games fill just fine. fangs game and fairy tail filled in a reasonably quick time without most of the locals here even signing up

what fang and i are asking is to expand the ranked game pool as there r setups we deem ranked worthy but arent getting enough competitiveness, which in return ruins the setup, because its not played as unranked

u dont have to call everyone who is raising a counter point or seeing things from different PoV as salty. the unranked game that we filled in this site had more players and subs than any ranked game so u r not even factually correct
