it's just intense angsty butt rock to me
jazz metal is based as fuck
there's just so much out there that goes overlooked most of the time, and if most of your way to experiment with new music is the YT algorithm, it's limited unless you already are exposed to underground, unknown, new stuff
mainstream buttmetal is what 98% of the population is familiar with so the genre is stained as a whole
but it doesn't have to be
except so few are willing to look into the more unknown shit
there's too much fucking music out there - of any genre - for anyone in the world to say "i hate this genre and all of it is awful"
