only just now occurring to me that Hoarah Loux is mentioned along with the other heroes of the Tarnished
that's where he's been all this time, he was fucking dead and exiled like all the other Tarnished
this is also why he's the only character to speak to the Tarnished respectfully, because he also is one but has also been an Elden Lord. He doesn't have the tainted perspective of everyone else

Nelphi is also related to him somehow. Has the same surname. That, or Loux could just be a name for bastards where the Tarnished come from. Godfrey was always mortal, and some kind of warrior chief in their homeland.
The Irina questline is incredibly fucked up. You try to save her father, and release him from his duty. You succeed but Irina is killed by one of the servants inbetween that. Edgar swears to avenge his daughter. Goes insane killing anyone he suspects. Eventually tries to kill you. And you have to put him down. Irina is brought back by the Frenzied Flame, and becomes Hyetta. Has amnesia. Develops a taste for shabiri grapes, but didn't actually know they were human eyes cause she is blind. She is being groomed into being a Finger Maiden by the Three Fingers, and leading you to them. And replaces Melina as your Finger Maiden. There is a happy ending though. If you use the unalloyed gold needle to tame the flame.
It's also the only way to save Melina. Since if you burn the tree she doesn't sacrifice herself.
