Gransax's corpse still being in Leyndell, when we know that the Ancient Dragons attempted to destroy the Erdtree when Godwyn was still alive, and therefore at the beginning of the Golden Age of the Erdtree, makes me wonder just how incompetent both the Ancient Dragon Cult and Marika were with clean-up detail.

Like holy cow bury him or something. They just left him in the middle of the city, and didn't fix anything he destroyed.

Since the beginning of the Golden Age. You would think the people who worshiped the Ancient Dragons would have done something, or that Marika would get tired of the smell of dead dragon wafting up to her bedchambers.

Not just petty and psycho. Marika was a slob.

I am certain that this is actually Martin's doing. Since he has this habit of ignoring that time changes things. Which is why Westeros never developed beyond anything medieval despite it. Where it remained stagnant instead.

I can't even with this. It feels like they left it there just to make things look more dilapidated and apocalyptic. When it makes no logical sense. It's like Bethesda ignoring how society rebuilt itself over the centuries in Fallout 3 and 4. By Fallout 2 cities and tribes were thriving. They were damn near modern. They even had porn studios and casinos. They had luxury again.

What even is this time-line? The only explanation I can think of is that they couldn't remove it because of how their hide distorts space-time, and therefore there's a time-stop or something freezing everything around it in place.
