And it's clear that the lore or in-game text itself is entirely Martin. Whereas they worked on the story. Interesting, but I can kinda see it.
I think it's the opposite
the background lore, and the relationships between the demigods was all Martin
the main story as you play through it was Miyazaki and his team. He said in another interview he oversaw all of the lore this time which iirc he hasn't directly done since he wrote all the item descriptions in DS1 (because nobody else had time to do it)

Basically what I was saying. They worked on the story, and he worked on the lore.

I've always been more interested in the far away, here be dragons places that have no context given to them like the fisher queens, asshai, bloodstone emperor etc, than the main story.

saw all the bosses/cutscenes from jack ff origins, lol

what a bad game, even the cheese was so try hard, all the memes i had said with rob, months ago, were true

bruhs

even the flaming, was donte levels, jack was basically a ff donte, but blonde version

it had it's moments, ngl, for example, the ending with jack becoming garland and all, garland in hd looked rad

garland vs sc nightmare would be an ace fight, for example

music was average too, also, near end of game jack, can punch through dimensional walls and other hax bs, like butter, cuz of isekai rage thanks to nomura's vision of nioh and dmc performing a fusion, lmao

overall

it's barely around 5/10 in quality, and i am very generous

squeeze enix should be ashamed for making it like this though

they really don't know how to make a proper hack and slash/action game, smh

also, jack's iq is possibly unintentional fanzverse tier levels, lol

such one dimensional mindset, is truly unique, not even a good wit

at least

he doesn't have estrogen

but if he had a solid iq, he would be a great char, lmao

and knows to throw jabs as well

That's basically my thoughts on it as well from what I've seen.
The gameplay looks like it took way too much from Ni-Oh(while Team Ninja is on the team, we all know what Square says goes) while not adding much of it's own identity at all past "Job Changes and being able to cast FF Magic". The game and the bosses seem like they are WAY too aggressive to actually be able to explore any real options to take advantage(The final boss looks way too piss easy but they go past that by having it almost constantly attack you with no real pause with too many AOE attacks.).

I've also heard the Party Members are OP as hell which makes how easy the bosses and normal enemies have such low health even more ridiculous than it has any right to be.

The game is easily a meme and a half and has some good moments but it's truly a goddamned shame Squenix seems to have no true idea of actually making a Hack and Slash game or have Team Ninja make their own variant of a Hack and Slaher with a Final Fantasy trim... or don't fucking have Nomura write the fucking game!
This is honestly 2 for 2 that Squenix keeps fucking up games and Team Ninja is going to take the fall for their incompetence(Dissidia 2015 was the first.)

@OtherGalaxy Took down Malenia today

Best boss in the game hands down

Learning her was rough but she's so fun it never felt like a chore to go through her phases.

Great fucking boss
have heard consistently she's the toughest in the game too

how would you compare her to other toughests like Midir or Orphan of Kos?

She's really fucking hard because mistakes are so punishing on her because of her lifesteal gimmick

If you try to ape your way through her chains she'll just heal back all the damage you do and you'll end up - on the trade. Her second phase ramps up the danger by adding additional gimmicks to her attacks that cover the weaknesses she had in phase 1+ she now builds rot on you and it's not the regular kind, it's the "Holy shit it's ticking for 5-8% of my health every time" kind that's in the lake of rot. What I like about her gimmick is that getting good enough at her fight invalidates it, you might get clipped once or twice but you're doing more damage than she's healing back on the trade which feels super rewarding.

Her attacks are fast and hit hard but she leaves you enough openings to counterattack after some of her big chains.

The ONLY thing I don't like about the fight is Waterfowl Dance, that shit is way too good. If she does it point blank range and you're not building status on her, that run is dead unless you get lucky.

Overall I think the comparison to orphan is apt because she feels more like a Sekiro/BB fight than a souls fight.

I usually stick with old games or games by indie developers. Being consumed by greed or rushing game development seems to be the norm with most triple-A developers, with some exceptions like FromSoftware. It is aggravating when some companies release their games with half-finished content and then release the rest later.

Many beloved companies like Bethesda, Blizzard, Konami, Gearbox, Rockstar, Valve, Ubisoft, and Microsoft have changed for the worse. However, some companies do have some redeeming qualities. The new Kirby game has caught my attention.
