i always liked gintama, it was inspired by bobobobobo, and yeah, some early arcs are slow, but the humor is ok for me and later, when they get into the serious arcs, it becomes a fully dif series, with some of the best fights out there, both anime and manga

Yeah the "comedic" arcs in Gintama tend to feel longer than they are (and they are long), mainly because the jokes are so hit or miss that sometimes it feels like a slog to get through. That said, when it gets serious the quality stays consistently high and the story beats are always great. It's just getting to that point being the hard part I guess
Characters who almost certainly will due to staple status
Hwaorang -Jin's main rival and he hasn't missed a game since his debut.
Bryan - "insert psychotic laughter here"
Xiaoyu - I mean her whole thing has been chasing after Jin so
Yoshimitsu - I don't think he's ever NOT been in a Tekken game.
Panda/Kuma - Obviously Panda goes where Xiaoyu goes and Kuma is a palette swap.

He literally rips apart a bunch of the main cast while smiling
Manipulative not so much but we prob haven't seen the last of the trio since they work for one of the strongest fixers in the city and verg only dismembered 2 of them
