Reading Baki again, and damn, Baki's mother was a creep. The sexually abusive, grooming her son, kind of creep.
Think we had an argument way back when about whether she deserved Yujiro's bear hug.
Baki's trauma aside? She really did, and only acted like a real mother near the end. That doesn't make up for it though. That was some Discord moderator "kitten" horror. Physical abuse didn't really do jack shit to Baki, because he is Baki, but I can only imagine what kinda sexual abuse he went through. That explains too much about him.
It's a miracle he turned okay with both of his parents being hot garbage for different reasons.

It was more of who was the more abusive. I was arguing she was just as abusive as Yujiro and even if the physical abuse doesn't actually hurt it would still affect him. But yeah she also wanted him to be a stand in for his father. Either way he turned out relatively normal considering who his parents were
True, true, but I enjoyed that thread. Disagree on it really effecting him, because her hits would be more likely to hurt her than him, but the sexual abuse likely caused a bunch of psychological trauma. I know you're arguing the physical abuse would too, but in my opinion, that's only if there is actual harm to go along with it. If anything she would have broke her hands before even bruising him. The sexual abuse though? That's traumatizing no matter what. Like fucking hell she literally gets some tongue action on her son when she kisses him on the lips.
It's a case where both parents need to get got.
