Studiopolis recently talked about the situation
"We would like to address the unfortunate circumstances that led to the casting error around the character "Yoruichi Shihoin" in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode #22. It was always Studiopolis' intent to keep as many of the established cast members as possible from the original Bleach anime.
There was a misunderstanding that "Yoruichi Shihoin" was part of the list of the original cast members who were unavailable to participate in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. In error, our casting coordinator offered Anairis Quiñones the role. By the time this error came to our attention, it was too late to correct before episode 22 was released. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize once again, and express how much we appreciate their talents, and enjoy working with Anairis and Wendee who will both continue to add their voice work to Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War with Wendee as "Yoruichi Shihoin" and Anairis as "Hiyori Sarugaki."" From the Farms and my honest question is this:
How the fuck did that happen?! Wendee Lee voices like 2 other characters than Yoruichi(Tatsuki and Menoly, both was in Cour 1) so how would she have somehow been stricken as "unavailable" when she was right there?
This makes less sense as we got Wendee Lee saying she wanted to play Yoruichi again in August in a video(And while the Sub of Cour 2 happened in July, the Dub only happened around August) which means that either some massive wires got crossed(which I doubt) or it's like I and others stated that Studiopolis tried to swap out Wendee with Anairis for "politics" but she and VIZ found out and told them to fuck off with that shit.
If you want to see some real steam from this decision, here's an Archive of the ANN forums because fuck giving them any clout and it is hilarious.
