A good video going into how so much sub favoritism is more due to fans being too comfortable with Japanese for so long without understanding it to the point they can't stand it in English despite it really being the same thing.

I like subs more but i don't pretend that shit isn't cringe in jp, i simply think that japanese is a language that sounds nice i guess :catskully

Wonder of U is fucking amazing

>Joseph cant predict his next line because he just doesnt say anything
>calls Josukes hair a result of calamity
>Toru says Highway Star is the stand thats the most troublesome
>when you beat Pucci he makes fun of his time acceleration saying that it wont let him escape calamity
>WoU calls The Spin interesting, Toru is spooked and says he wants nothing to do with it
:hestonpls
I do kinda wish they gave him some intereaction with GER

Heisei and showa Godzilla's can do kung fu. It was never realistic.
That fucking drop-kick. :kobeha

But yeah, expecting Godzilla movies of all things to be realistic or take themselves that seriously is just silly.
I think it's more like there expecting it to be similar to Toho which is just... What?

I guess it's cause of the first two movies since Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island tried to be serious, but from king of monsters it's pretty clear that Hollywood is going for a more showa/Heisei feel where Godzilla was less serious and the series was about him fighting monsters than being allegories for societal issues, it also fits with Godzilla's portrayal in these movies as he's whatever the movie needs him to be, force of nature, villain, hero, etc.

I genuinely don't know what Drinker was on when he wrote that.
Drinker does it sometimes, but not as bad as MauLer and co

He hyperfixates on "IN THE REAL WORLD SHIT WOULDN'T WORK LIKE THIS" or "REALISM" for some of his critiques, sometimes it sticks but sometimes it's a headscratcher like with this one
Don't think they've genuinely liked ANY of the Monsterverse movies.

Which is funny because they ALL liked Live-Action One Piece and it's just as silly, if not more so in a lot of ways.

Yeah, that's another good point.
These people were reacting to shit in One Piece and I was sitting there like "most of you have consumed sci-fi and superhero media, why the overreaction?"

IIRC the nerdrotic gang liked the movie.

Generally it was because they enjoyed the characters and simply thought it was much better written than most of what's coming out nowadays....which it is granted, but so are the Monsterverse movies.

It just seems weird that they let One Piece's lack of realism slide but they get on the Monsterverse about it.

Well Nerdrotic's a comic fan (whereas MauLer and company are not familiar with them, hence their steadfast defense of Tom Holland's Spider-Stark) so him enjoying these things makes sense.

Didn't that defense have a lot to do with Tom Holland's performance?
But yeah, screw that. Any version of Spider-Man can stand on its own without the Iron Man mentorship (and that's coming from an Iron Man fan) or any other superhero in general.

Well yeah but also because they had no frame of reference for comics Peter and therefore didn't see the obvious issue with MCU Peter being so reliant upon Tony Stark.

Doubly so from me as a Spider-Man fan.

But hey, at least the MCU didn't present villains Peter would normally be able to handily deal with 1v1, and had already been established as having beaten them multiple times, as suddenly being something he can't deal with at all without Miles' help.

Fuck you Insomniac. :scust
