That feeling when you try to watch JRPG speedruns and inevitably the commentary always turns to shitting on the story of the games, usually amounting to the commentators having not payed attention to the story and saying it's the game's fault they're confused when it isn't more often than not. :smh
It's like children playing and just going through quest without caring about the story or how the world develop.

:eksip 99% because jrpg progress allows you to follow it without caring a single time about the story.

because most time story only really care about the ending or secrets. And most casual player just goes through the game not even learning about it.

:kannasip then they complain getting the worst endings.

Wat the examples be
Every Manwha
:eksip has the (insert extra name) Demon/Divine sect . Basically for insider they call their sect divine sect for outsider their sect is called Demon sect.

Basically every manwha also has this sect be it the main good guy, bad guy sect or extra but very important in the story. they won't even matter just that the dude that exist at the top is either 1 of the strongest or the strongest

"Heavenly demon" is like an improper translation actually, but I don't remember what it's actually supposed to mean

Murim series are straight copypastes of each other setting wise though

The ironic part is that Chained Soldier has barely anything in common with Akame Ga Kill in terms of what people expect so you are in good luck regardless.
Well you really wouldn't want it to be too much like the author's previous work so that's kind of a good thing I guess.

Honestly I was on board for most of the episode and might have been happy to try reading it but for the whole "her body moves ON IT'S OWN" element being VERY RAPEY, especially considering she didn't know what the "reward" would be either. :scust

The funny thing is that if she were just very horny and that was just how she liked to reward people, I'd have a lot less issue with it. :mjpls

That's actually how it's supposed to be. It's just that the Rewards System tends to get more and more... gratuitous depending on the task he has to do so in essence, he's basically getting rewarded like that because he's doing something that would kill him.

It does later turn into basically the girls are horny for him in time but don't want to lose their dignity when it happens.

Me: Oh someone made a Sakura vs YYH thread on NF? Novel feats are mentioned? Let me take a look at them. I mean they should be impressive given what fans say.

Only to realize they aren't impressive at all, stans were glazing the shit out of things with Sakura beating Naruto tier Jinchurikis(spoilers she doesn't), tanking a biju bomb( she almost dies from having one grazed on her while dodging and the damn thing is only a meter big according to the novel) and being faster than light( literally just dodges a basic bitch lighting jutsu).

Someone needs to pay for making me even think of reading that shit ngl. Tailed beast drugs sounds like something I'd come up with in the 5th grade :jordangif.

I see, that does sound a lot better as long as there is SOMETHING resembling a plot outside of the...you know. :maybe
Also I doubt he goes this far but just to be clear here, the 11 year old is just there to be cute right? :hm

Monday
Looking to find a new manga to read.
Reads the Chained Soldier manga summary

"Wait why does the guy have to join them? I guess the main girl must just have an ability where she needs a man to reach full power or something (I was thinking along the lines of the manga where the demon has to prove someone's innocence to reach full power and kick ass), but eh I'm not sure.
Keeps looking and decides to read Demon School Iruma instead.

Today
Sees the first episode of the Chained Soldier anime is out.

"I might as well watch it, how bad can it be?"

So the guy gets the OPTION to acquire superpowers and the chance to be a hero, while she is FORCED (her body literally moves against her will) to give him a "reward" afterwards. How exactly is the guy the SLAVE in this relationship, this is fucked up?

I mean I get that she's willing to put up with it because she wants to get stronger/a promotion but this is legitimately fucked up. :pepetrified

Yeah, the ability is weirdly tilted towards the "slave". That said, she has to initiate it, she can stop it whenever she wants while the dude is stuck till she says so, and she can legit override his will through the chain if she wants. And the reward is apparently "proportional" so if he transforms but doesn't fight she'll just pat him on the head or something.

It's also worth noting that while he's okay with it because it lined up with what he wanted, she basically kidnapped him and dragged him into a war zone to be a living weapon after this, because once the contract is made he's bound to her for life.

Minor spoilers but...
eventually others get the chance to use the ability and the dude keeps trying to warn them off of it. Obviously no one listens because its an ecchi show but Yuuki is noticeably uncomfortable with the ability forcing a reward, even if its from someone who straight up beat him half to death five seconds earlier (long story)

So with all that out of the way.....yeah no it's still kinda fucked up, just more evenly fucked up than it may initially appear :catskully

Chained soldier
Did they really remove the slave from the title ? :espurrtf

Speaking of the author he also have another manga that some dude gets isekai'ed to some prison and made to become warden or something, he gets killed off and throw in the ocean.... and he meet a giant kraken that is dying and decides to merge with him allowing him to become a kamen rider with tentacles... and its is what it is

The manga kinda implies that it's not actually the dude's desires but the girls (or at least a mix of the two) that decide the content of the reward. The girl who is interested in dating has to take him on one (in the middle of an ongoing battle no less :skully) for example

So basically this is what Kyouka thinks a guy would want as a reward.

Top right looks to be from Eyeshield 21 if that Devilbat near her means anything

Top left looks like she is from that Kochikame something or other?

Was Black Cat still running back then? Top Center might be from that?

Then you have the girl from Bobobo and Tokiko from Busou Renkin

No clue about the others even with cultural osmosis assisting and shit.
