Funny enough I remember asking if, or at least speculating they could do something like this when the card game came out and was actually getting a lot of praise. I never really thought they'd actually do it though, SWEET! :awesome

The only question is if it's like Tamers wherein they simply use the card to buff the Digimon for the real fights or if it's going full Yu-Gi-Oh on this shit and they're just outright playing the card game? I'm actually hoping it's the latter. :maybe

In fairness a Souls-like probably could work given, particularly in Tamers, Digimon can absorb the data of killed Digimon which would obviously serve as your souls/blood/resource that you buy things with. It would just need to come up with some sort of system to facilitate evolution, an environment which would be massively different from basically any Souls-like that exists and at least a decent selection of Child level Digimon to choose from as a base.

It definitely wouldn't be my first, second or third choice for a Digimon game but it could definitely work.
