Well, Dofus is not a bad movie.
And that movie came out almost 10 years ago, I don't think it can be considered something very current...

Like sure as Metatron points out, there were definitely SOME black people in Japan at this time but they were a ridiculously small minority. It's not out of the question to have an entire show based on this period of Japan where we don't see any.
The rest of that shit is just based on pure fucking nonsense and people not understanding that being "darker skinned" than the rest of the population as the original people indigenous to the Japanese islands were, doesn't equate to "they were black".
